Elias grabbed his emergency paper (for use as tinder to make a fire) and a pen he had and scrawled the message "trade seats with me?" and crumbeled up the backup emergency paper and threw it at Lyra and held the sign up.
Elias was not such a bad guy after all.

Lyra caught the paper and looked up. "You sure?" She said hopefully.

He grabbed the emergency emergency emergency paper and wrote the words he could not say it was too embarassed too say: " Of course someone as beautiful as you should not have to sit next to something as hideous as that "

Anau leaned back and put his mouth by Zaku's ear, "A thought occurred," he said quietly, "I wouldn't trust them as allies, but with the Flood, and the Rifters... perhaps we could use them. What do you think?"

Lyra caught the paper and blushing looked up. "Thank you." She rose delicately from her chair and hurried over to Elias. "I appreciate this," she murmured softly.

"Use them?" Zarra whispered, overhearing Anau, "As in we lie to them to keep them on our side, then turn on them once we don't think we need them any more? Isn't that precisely what they did to us?" she asked, keeping her voice low, "I'll admit that they deserve as much, but I wouldn't like to stoop to their level."

Anau looked to Zarra, "Not necessarily 'turn on them' like they did to us, we have fights to worry about as it is. I just mean we do need more help with our fight against the Rifters, and now the Flood, but I don't want them as permanent allies."

" any time " said Elias with a smile getting up and taking his sweet next to Katar to the seat next to...the "lovely" Drone Queen. He thought he was going to be sick she was hidous up from far away but it got to a new even worse level he did not know was even possible. *** As much as he despised his idea he should be polite and asked what they wanted from them in this allience and such. He certainly did not have to agree nor could he give them a definite answer the entire Council would have to hear this but they had to win Katar over to allow them to go to the Council. " so tell me what does this allience exactlly intail may I ask....before I decide to even allow you to propose such a thing after our last deal went over....you know the one that started in us protecting you and forming the Covenant to the genocide of my SPECIES " said Katar.

Zarra nodded to Anau, "Good, I was worried you were holding a little to much of a grudge... Though considering what they did to us, I really wouldn't blame you if you did."

Zaku murmured back after Zarra responded to Anau. "I believe that we must either set up an honorable agreement or ignore them. And to be honest, I believe that refusing that one that is speaking- he seems to be the one least against us- would likely result in his obviously less friendly companions executing us. I... think that we should agree for a truce, let them aid us against the Rifters and the Parasite, and see where we can go form there."
----------------------
Obedience held his hands up in surrender to the angry Councilor.
"Councilor," he pleaded, "let us keep this civil. Do not blame us for the mistakes of our predecessors. Truth's judgment was... inconsistent, near the end. All that I ask is that you accept our aid in the fight against the Parasite, as well as your foes the Rifters, and in return, the Sangheili and humans will stop raiding our unarmed cargo caravans for fun. It really is distressing when a UNSC frigate will "accidentally" stumble into a backwater trade route where and when our caravans are known to take periodic rest stops."
-------------------
The enormous, green-black Yanme'e Hive Queen looked down the six feet between her head and the human below. It was then that the glowing orange eyes of the sleek, insectile queen read the apparent body language... disgust. Could the glossy insectoid simply go on one trip where she received a maximum of one, maybe two, expressions of undisguised horror and disgust? The Hive Queen's pincers clicked together, the equivalent of pursing one's lips. Her arms tightened up, and she looked down upon the human, her delicately-scented pheromones indicating her distress at the human male's unfounded hatred of her. Her orange eyes shaped into odd ellipses, showing her resentment of first Lyra switching, and then Elias giving her that... look. She turned her large body slightly to one side, giving Elias an excellent view of the huge, swollen, transluscent egg sac. She instead focused on the Kig-Yar Magistrate, and began chittering to him in Yanme'e.

" I suppose we could temporalily form an allience to combat the parasite and the Rifters and our apparent raids will stop...at least from the Sangheili I can promise nothing for the humans...however if you would be so kind to show us to an empty room for dicussion and with the Council and the humans then we can get this settled right here right now " said Katar.

"The Elite has a good point," Jack said, "Who is going to make the decision on behalf of the Humans? I don't think anyone here is of sufficient rank to do so," "Yeah there is," Lachlan said, "The Master Chief, Chandl- Oh wait, ha!" Jack shook his head at Lachlan, he should show more respect for the dead. Maybe they could get in contact with Eden, or Sanderson.

Obedience raised his eyebrow ridges. "I do not see what we cannot get accomplished here that we could in an empty room, Councilor." The Second Hierarch looked over to the Spartans and the smaller human, his face puzzled. "Correct me if I am wrong, humans... Are you trying to say that you are inclined to turn down an agreement of ceasefire, as well as an offer of military aid against enemies poised to destroy you all, just because there is no corrupt bureaucrat to pretend to make the decision? I certainly hope that humans have not lost the tenacity that has given them much notoriety in the galactic political arena."

" It is not so simple Prophet these humans...no offense to you all are not in any position to say that they can be in this allience with you. Seeing as none of them are experienced in politics and they have to tell their higher ups what they are potentially agreeing to in order to get the word out better and so that agreement can be authorised to be enacted as; who are the people more willing to believe a small group of soilders or their leaders again these humans here have no authority to enact in an allience or make their leaders enforce for " said Katar defending the humans sort of...

Lyra watched the Prophets. 'Can't we just pretend to get along? Is it that hard fro them to grin and bear it? Or did we do something offensive?' Lyra felt a headache coming on. "Stupid incomprehensible extraterrestrials." she muttered crossly.
