Russ sighed and put the MBR on his leg. He would want to reach for it quickly.
Another thought popped into his mind for further development of the rifle before he pitched it to the UNSC.
'For CQC situations, underbarrel eight gauge magazine-fed shotgun. Four shells per mag, semi-automatic. Never used 8 gauge shells in semi-autos before: will be difficult to mod them into semi-auto weapon.
Also, scope modification for night, thermal, electromagnetic field vision, as well as advanced motion tracker.' He stopped thinking and mentally prepared himself.

Darman caught Jack's glance. He seemed... unsure. Darman shifted slightly, searching for words. He wanted to say everything would work out, that everyone would be ok. But he knew that wasn't true. His gaze flickered downward, unslinging his MA5 Carbine. It clattered to the floor, and was followed shorty after by his M6C. He looked at his hands. They were trembling. He steadied them, then looked back to Jack. They were stuck in the middle of nowhere, being sucked into a potentially hostile vessel. They had no backup, no plan of escape, and nowhere to run if they did.
"Just like old times, huh?"

((OOC I got your reason right here Indi ))
A brute nudged Tolerance and whispered in his ear what Temperance said to him and acknowledging him of his own presence.
" Yes brother this shall be interesting at the very least.....look there are our *pauses with a disgusted look on face while pointing to humans and Sangheili* our "guests" " said Tolerance personally wanting to vomit and get the whole nice show out of way. ***
Katar grudgingly went down the gravlift. Great he was going to have to make an effort to be nice to these vermin or at least he would need a good reason before he started yelling. He of course had his swords on him seeing as Katar still practiced many of the old Covenant traditions they would understand he was wearing them to show his status. " well as soon as they come get us lets get this over with " said Katar giving a death stare to the Prophet riding a red and gold throne (Tolerance). *** Otto to got off the Phantom and left his helmet inside the Phantom this situation was definitely stressful and he needed a smoke. He grabbed a cigarette and slowly inhaled the calming smoke. " anyone else vant one " asked Otto (OOC score all of Otto's w's are not v's cause of german awesomeness).

Zaku stepped into the gravlift, his head held high. Some of the humans had left their helmets behind... Zaku would make no such gesture of trust. His huge, ornamental armor glittered dully in the light, still smudged with ash and even several bloodstains- purple as well as red. His sword and shield projector were proudly displayed on his armguards, and he carried a conspicuously loaded plasma rifle on his waist. The Ship Master stepped onto the hangar floor, his icy eyes examining the three San 'Shyuum in front of him, as well as a number of Jiralhanae, Unggoy, and Kig-Yar. There was a mass of Mgalekgolo forces stationed throughout the hangar, as well. After a second, he recognized the one on the red-and-gold throne with robes made to mimic... ah. He recognized this liar.
He opened his jaws, flexing the upper two outward- the equivalent of a fierce grin for the Sangheili. Zaku strode forward, his baritone booming. "Prophets!" he said. "I have come, as per request. I am Zaku 'Vudem, Ship Master of the Radiant Jewel, and commander of the Fleet of Repentant Justice. You would be..." he paused for effect. "The High Minister of Charity?" This was likely the San 'Shyuum's old title, seeing as he now sported rather, ah, hideous clothing.
-------------------------
Justin politely declined Otto's offer of cancerous death sticks, instead standing next to Katar as the embittered Elite Councilor sent out poisonous glares to all non-humans and non-Sangheili. Alastair, meanwhile, took a cigarette and attempted to shove it up Otto's nose by way of declination. The ginger SPARTAN-III then turned to follow Justin and the crotchety Sangheili....
--------------------------
The High Prophet of Obligation slapped his hand to his forehead, and the Prophet's crown slid down and to one side. The Hierarch angrily adjusted it with unnecessary haste, and continued cursing his stupidity. Here he was, the Second Hierarch, sitting in a stateroom while the other triad of High Prophets greeted the "guests" in the hangar... Tolerance- damn that crotchety old fool!- would likely try and imprison them. So Obligation hurriedly hissed orders to his Mgalekgolo Platinum Guard to make sure the humans and sangheili had a proper invitation... no matter what the other Prophets would say. The Second Hierarch then drifted into the Gravity Lift, heading towards the hangar deck. Awkward, awkward, awkward, awkward, awkward....

As Zarra prepared to leave the Phantom she saw one of the humans still holding on to his weapon and looking ready for a fight. "Leave it," she told him, with a sigh, "We're not shooting our way out of this one."
* * *
Temperance looked back to see that the humans and Elites had already begun the exit the Phantom. "I would like to leave this hangar as quickly as possible," he said nervously, still watching his enemies disembark, "I'm not sure we should be around them before they are searched, one of them might be foolish enough to try to take a shot at us."

Humility hovers towards Temperance, having freshly exited his phantom, guard at his flanks. "Saluta..." He began, but then saw the procession of Humans and Sangheili disembarking from their respective ships.
"What are the Hethans doing here so soon? I was never informed that they were so close. This is an outrage! Where is Obedience? That child needs to be disciplined!"

" I do not know clearly Obedience views these Heretics as more important then his brothers.....a shame come we must confront our brothers and punish him if needed " said Tolerance and turned one last glance at the heretics and saw an elite councilor was present....ah yes it was Katar Yamos the poor battle scared fool; seems the Sangheili could not afford to send a real politician here. (OOC BUUUUURN...to myself XD)

Jack grinned from under his helmet and gave Darman an affirmative nod. He walked over to the grav lift and stepped into it after Lachlan. "Dysfunctional as ever," chuckled Lachlan after floating off the Phantom, "Where's the food at?" "Treat them with respect, Human!" Anau whispered harshly from the Phantom, not getting a response from Lachlan. He shook his head and turned to Zarra, "Come on, let's get this over with."

"Alright," Zarra said approaching the grav lift. She took Anau's hand tightly for a moment, then stepped in, leaving the Phantom.

Obedience, having silently slid up behind the other prophets, was enraged. His eyeballs swelled up to the point that it looked like they would pop, and then the emerald-irised San 'Shyuum spoke from behind the Fourth Hierarch.
"Might I remind you," he snapped, "that this 'child' invited these beings to his own ship under general rules of hospitality?" He shook his head, sneering at the High Prophet of Humility. "Do you not understand, Humility? I did not invite you here so you could watch me torture these humans and Sangheili to death. You have been brought here to sit in your throne, pretending to be part of the negotiations I have planned for this evening. You are not a chess-master, Humility- you are an especially gaudy pawn."
Having vented his frost contradiction, the Second Hierarch turned to the First. "Now," he said, "Shall we go greet our guests?" He set his throne to drift towards the "Infidels".

" need I remind you Obedience that these people you have invited are non-believers and oath-breakers and that Humilities desire to slay them is a quite reasonable last resort as these guests have the same desire for us as Humility as for them"
" I pray that both of you consider the logic in the other's arguments, Obedience is right in the fact we should at least try and reason with them and Humility is right in the fact that our guests have a strong disliking of us and are in fact as he put it "infidels" are not exactly on good terms....not even remotely good terms with us" said Tolerance moving closer with his fellow Prophets to Obedience's "guests".

Obedience nodded to Tolerance's rebuke, taking it... for now. But then he had to speak, once Tolerance had finished. The Second Hierarch grumbled, "Yes, the Infidels tend to be on bad terms with us if we invite them onto a ship in goodwill, then go against both the vessel's commanding officer's word and orders by slaughtering the humans and sangheili like plump thornbeasts." He let it sit for a second, then added, "Remember that before any decisions are made." ((OOC/ All the Prophets are so nice to each other, no? ))

(I can just feel the love <3 )
" Of course there must be a valid reason for execution Obedience but remember who is 1st Prophet Obedience. I also don't have to remind you that Former-councilor Katar Yamos and his wonderful temper is here " said Tolerance being sarcastic at the end.

Obedience raised his eye ridges. "Point taken. 'Yamos is a... tempestuous individual. We should tread carefully around him." With that, the Second Hierarch turned his throne to face the non-Covenant before him, and drifted toward the group.
"Humans.." he began. "Sangheili... I welcome you all here in the name of the New Covenant. Please, come with we Hierarchs to my stateroom. Dinner is being prepared as we speak, so it should be done shortly after we arrive."

"New Covenant?" Lachlan asked, "New? So I 'spose you've made some improvements?" he asked mockingly, following the Prophets towards the stateroom. He looked over his shoulder at Anau who shook his head, Lachlan just nodded confidently and walked on. Anau took off his re-breather now that he was in a Covenant vessel, the other Sangheili should be able to breath easy now too. After that device was gone he replaced it with his Commando helmet; must look intimidating.
