Diana scrambled to her feet and ran to join the other Spartans, then turned to send a few shots in the Elite's direction as it fled.

"Ok, that's it, get up the stairs!" Amy-Lee turned her tail and ran up the stairs, followed by other members of Hotel team. Jack and Marcas escorted Diana back to the stairwell and slammed shut the door behind them.
August 12, 0830
"Well, it's done," Martin said, stepping away from a console, "The A.I just purged itself along with all UNSC related information in this building," "Great," Marcas sighed, "We don't even get to know what we dying for, typical ONI," Amy-Lee stood up from a group of exhausted troopers and looked to the negative Spartan, "Hey, we're not going to die," "It looks grim, you gotta' admit," Jack commented while making himself a full clip from his assault rifle from spare bullets, "What's a marine sergeant doing with a bunch of army troopers, anyway?" Verve shook her head and turned her attention back on the troopers, quietly reassuring them it's not the end.
An explosion echoed through the halls and shook the building. Jack looked to the floor, "They're getting closer."

"I saw you dancing with that Demon," Ream said, resting on the stairs while Anau searched the rubble for his helmet. "It was a fight, and I almost had it," grumbled Anau, lifting a sheet of metal off his helmet. "Oh, fighting? That's what you were doing?" laughed Ream. "I performed better than you would have," he growled, picking up his helmet. "Maybe, maybe not..." Ream snickered, "I saw you riding piggy-back on that Mgalekgolo, as well," Anau placed on his helmet and looked to her, expecting an insult. "Impressive, I'd say we're even," she said, stepping off the stairs, "Well done brother, you fought well today," Anau frowned, "You as well, sister. But I don't like how you become this sweet after a battle, Ream..." "Hm, sweet?"
An Ultra appeared at the top of the stairs and addressed the Sangheili below, "The Humans have locked themselves in rooms above us. Find them all, and kill them."

Targa grumbled to himself, he had arrived too late to do much fighting before the humans retreated out of reach. As he stood amongst his allies, frustrated, he caught a glimpse of a blurred shape out of the corner of his eye. No Elite with any sense would still be camouflaged, wasting their armor's battery, while the enemy was elsewhere. Had a human snuck down? He whirled around and caught the shape by the throat. With a yelp the figure's camouflage faded to reveal that it was, indeed, a foolish Elite, and not a human after all. "A medic has not yet been called," Targa growled, Placing the female on the floor. "The area has been secured," the medic responded defensively, "All the wounded back there have been sent back to the battle or evacuated already." "You were to stay back until called," Targa asserted again. "Why should I stand idle outside while some of the wounded in here could be dying?" "If they are going to die that quickly they are likely not able to be saved anyway," Targa snorted, "Heal those that are able to be healed, but let the dying keep their honor." "What about my honor?" the medic said sharply, "There is no honor in doing nothing." "You are not a warrior," Targa growled, "And this insolence will not go unpunished. Your name please, and don't lie or I'll have your entire squad questioned." He was in a bad mood already, he didn't need this disrespectful female talking back at him. "'Yairumee," the medic growled back.

Ream caught sight of the confrontation between Targa and the female medic and chuckled. "You of all people should not be laughing," Anau said, as the pair walked up the stairs. "Oh please, listen to her talking about honour when she creeps around in camouflage," "She obviously has the will of a warrior," Anau said, coming to the medics defence. "If that were true, she would have taken the armour of a fallen brother and wore it into combat," Ream replied. "That's disgusting, there's no honour in that," "Pick a side, Anau," Ream laughed, running ahead.
Anau glanced back at Targa and the medic before running ahead after Ream, "I'd take hers over yours any day..." He mumbled.

"And what's this?" Targa asked spotting a Plasma Pistol at the medic's hip. "It's for self defense," she growled, "My duty is to the wounded, I won't abandon them to try to fight." "You wouldn't need it if you would stay where your told to. Return to your squad, and wait until you're called," Targa ordered. "By the time I get back there, we will have been called forward already," the medic argued. Targa groaned and shook his head, he could have a Minor escort her back, but it wouldn't be worth it. "If the humans try to make a counter attack, get to cover and stay out of the way," he said simply, giving up. She nodded and moved off to do her job.

" Grunt get me a Plasma Repeater....and take this back to wherever we are storing weapons.....take one from where ever you can..tell him General Killamee sent you and that if they have a problem with it they should seek me immediatly.....make it quick I have a prize to find " ordered Quilian as he finished off the last of his Needle Rifle ammo on a group of human defenders and handed the grunt his fuel Rod. " ri...right away sir" said the grunt as he ran off.
He saw an Ultra interrogating a medic and two elites just sitting there....maybe they had a gun for the General.
" General need gun...take...problem...prize...find " let out the Grunt who's ability to make complete sentences failed him as the excitment of not having to work so hard to get him a gun, his tiredness of running with the heavy gun, and the panic of what these elites would do to him for making them give up their gun.

"We're about to enter combat," Anau said to the Grunt, "We can't spare arms at the moment, perhaps you could look-" "Take my Repeater," Ream interrupted, handing the Grunt her weapon, "And tell the General Ream Alcolee compliments his excellent battle strategy." She then spun the Grunt around and nudged him back into the direction it came. "Alerting the General to a female warrior?" Anau asked with a smirk, "Wise," he added, of course sarcastically.
He took up his rifle and ran ahead to join the other spec-ops Elites while Ream stayed behind to look for a replacement weapon, and possibly to hide from a General not yet adjusted to females on the battlefield. If that was so, she would have no problem proving herself worthy.

" Thank you miss " said the grunt running back to the general and just laying down the nearly depleted fuel rod gun (OOC you got one clip if you want to use it). *** " General Miss Ream Alcolee gives you this " said Jim-Jim holding out the plasma repeater. " Interesting there are others....perhaps I was wrong to yell at Inwa for entering the military....I should really call her...see how life on that Corvette is...she should of cooled down by now...hopefully thought Quilian as he took the Plasma Repeater.
" yes...very good...run along now Jim-Jim andgather any stragglers and tell them to come here immediately we will be making our own push for the prize "
The grunt groaned but followed orders and started to round up grunts, jackals and elites who were being idle at the moment.
With the new troops at his disposal Quilian started the push for the *insert floor number where humans are holed up on* floor.

Marcas stood up from the floor and addressed the other Spartans, "I have a problem with waiting to die," he groaned, looking to Darman, "Boss, what do you say we make one last charge?"
"They certainly won't see that coming," Martin commented, "We could take out a General or two,"
"You boys can go right on ahead," sighed Toni while in the process of tying her hair back up, "I think we should hold out here, wait for reinforcements."
"You're right," Verve nodded, turning away from her radio, "But... while that Corvette is there, we're not getting any reinforcements."
"What does everyone else want to do?" Jack asked.

"I'd take running out and killing as many as we can, over waiting for them to come and get us, any day," said Diana, "But I'm not ready to give up yet. Couldn't we do anything about that Corvette? Have someone swoop in and blow it to hell for us?"

"I tried that," Verve groaned, "I've been trying that for 30 minutes, but no one wants to talk to me over this stupid thing," he said, banging the side of the radio. "I can't believe the UNSC would abandon their own," Marcas growled. "They better not make a habit out of it..." said Jack quietly.
As Verve began repeating her distress call, Martin continued their conversation. "Desperate times..." "But we're Spartan," Toni interrupted, "They wouldn't abandon such a large group of us, we're too valuable," she said, then receiving a 'And what about us?' look from the troopers. She didn't respond.
***
Anau stormed through the halls with other Elites close behind him. Like a flood they consumed everything in their path and rushed forward. Two troopers standing watch outside the conference room the Spartans and other Human survivors were held up in immediately opened fire on the rushing death squad.
***
The sudden sound of gun fire echoed down the hall. "Damn it!" Verve roared, "They were supposed to radio us when the Elites showed up, not open fire!" She turned back to the radio and pulled out her pistol, "Spartans, hold them off while I try to get someone on this thing!"
Jack nodded and lifted up his assault rifle, "Lunch break's over, back to work."
***
The two troopers down the hall began their retreat when the Elites pushed. They attacked so suddenly, they had no time to radio ahead. They jumped over their makeshift barriers and dodged their own booby-traps as the Elites slowly followed, unleashing a barrage of plasma. They both became consumed by it, and fell just before the entrance to the conference room.
Jack peaked out the hall, saw the Elites approaching, and immediately stepped out and engaged.

Darman grumbled, his MA5K raised as he pressed himself against the door frame. He poked his carbine into the entrance, spraying a quick burst before joining Jack. A pair of Elites skidded to a halt at the end of the hallway, their Repeaters laying down a field of suppressing fire as their comrades moved up behind them. He dove to the side as plasma spattered against the wall, his MA5 sputtering with return fire.

(OoC: If I can get a few more peeps fighting the Elites/Humans we'll move on.)
The hall was narrow, making it difficult for the Elites to advance without taking a lot of fire. The Humans had also placed trip wires connected to grenades. Needless to say, the Elites were losing warriors. But the prize would be worth it.
Jack ducked in and out of a room further down the hall while the Elites did the same. They were slowly getting closer, and Jack was slowly being forced back. It wouldn't be long before they reached to conference room where Verve and the other troopers were.

Targa followed close behind the Elites in the lead and add more kills to the shamefully small number he had acquired in the battle so far. When he reached the fighting he was disappointed to find the humans were still delaying the advance. Making matters worse many of the Elites had become too disorderly in their hunger for battle with the Demons and were needlessly falling to the enemies' weapons in their haste. "You call yourself warriors?" Targa barked, attempting to take command of the situation, "You fight like a pack of bungling Jiralhanae! You can't all charge down the same hall at once. You!" he signaled to a squad, "Fall back, try to find another way around. Who's in charge here?" he demanded. ((OoC: Trying to think of more to do than shoot back and forth over barricades. This could also give Ream an opportunity to try to throw Anau under the bus, if you would find that useful Danny. If this messes up something you already had in mind though, I'll change it. ))

(OoC: Not exactly sure what you had in mind, but hopefully this is it. ) "He is." Ream answered the Ultra's question. Anau's attention was focussed else where, so he didn't know that Ream was pointing straight at him. He stopped firing on the Humans when he heard no discussion between his commander and the Ultra. He turned to see Ream with an evil grin from under her helmet, and the Ultra glaring at him. "Sir," Anau nodded immediately. She would pay for this, "The last of the Humans are held up in a room down the hall, I was tol- I decided, that a rush would be an appropriate tactic whilst they were off guard. But, they have several Demons, and I don't know if there is a way around..." Anau was doomed either way. For impersonating an officer or for 'coming up with' a terrible battle plan.
