((OoC: Fine then, if you really want to have a couple ship around, that will be alright I guess, as long as they are out of the way, on the surface of the ring, and no one knows about them. Our characters need to at least think they're on their own. I would really, really rather Otto's ship was the only ship around though. I had this planned out a certain and way and the more ships there are, the more it'll mess it up. ))

(OoC: Mitch, you didn't mention your Prowlers in a post. We need a real sense of abandonment going here, I don't want any of our characters having hope about this. Get your ships out, all of them. Also, these 'Astrays' would be lucky to have one Frigate. I doubt they would have three Prowlers just laying about.
Indi, I've messaged Specs about the Prowler a few days ago; we've got it covered. I'll let you know what we're doing on TLC.
As for the 'Ares being away' predicament, I believe he wanted his AI to battle Grim in the control room, which tied in well with what I had planned. So we'll stall as long as we can till he returns.)
Chandler took one last look at the sky; the sheer amount of Rifter ships had blocked out the sun. He shook his head and stepped inside, into the first very large hallway. Russell was right, these Forerunners were tall. Once everyone was in, he raised his Assault Rifle and took out a grenade. He primed it, and simply dropped it by the control panel outside. It exploded, destroying that console and shutting the door behind them. Then, using his rifle, he shot up the console on the inside. No one was coming in or out.
"Do the same to every door we enter," he ordered, walking forward.
Jack wattled forward and joined the group as they walked through the Forerunner halls in search of the control room. He walked next to one Spartan, Mitch 105.
"Hello," he greeted, then looking around, "Do you mind telling me where the hell we are, exactly, and who these 'Forerunners are?" Jack, being in cryo since Reach, didn't exactly understand all that was happening.

Darman was starting to lag behind. His instincts were screaming at him to stay where he was, not to go any farther. But he silenced them, and trundled on. The tunnels were silent, but his pulse pounded in his ears. For brief moment, he was in the trenches of Reach, artillery echoing in the distance, screams of allies filling the air. He gripped his carbine tighter, eyes moving rapidly, as if in a dream...
A quiet ping from his HUD brought him back to reality, informing him that his vitals had risen towards the danger zone. He cursed the advanced technology, hoping no one would notice the alert. He jogged up to rejoin the squad, taking a position near Jack and Mitch, who were discussing these "Rifters". Darman found this whole situation slightly confusing as well. Why these creatures had been in hiding for so long, he had no idea, and hopefully he could gain some information by listening in.

Chandler planted his last grenade by a console and quickly darted inside the next hall. The explosion damaged the ancient technology beyond repair and the door slammed shut. Now for the one on the inside of their hallway. Out of grenades and running low on ammo, he tried a new approach to damaging this one.
He clenched his right fist and smashed it through the pannel. The display flickered before going offline, and he turned around, shaking his fist.
"You know, for Gods, there ability to create decent equipment sure does suck..."

((OOC This is does represent the opinion on Specs on God...nor do I wish to anyone to be offended) " at least our God's actaully did something besides sitting on their lazy asses all day...just look at everything our Gods left behind for us and what have your Gods left behind for you Golden Tablets, an Ark that kills people instead of saving them (OOC Ark of the Covenant ( ) vs The Halo Ark )), restrict our diet, have of give up all of our pocessions to live like peasants or give up a large portion of our income, our priest do not molest little children, our Gods have advanced of technology and withthem we would not be as advanced as we were today " growled Katar.

"Yeah, that's right," Chandler nodded calmly, "Your kind relies on ancient technology to make you strong, us Humans had to fend for ourselves, to make ourselves strong," he said, stepping in front of Katar.
"Humans are the only true warriors, we rely on ourselves, not scrappy old tech left behind by an ancient race. Here's a thought, you old fool, if these so called 'Gods' left you their technology, then why can't you use it?" growled Chandler, and as the final insult; "And I don't know if you've been paying attention, but your Gods are trying to kill us."

"perhaps the Gods pitted your race and gave your kind ownerships in the relics to your kind because they knew you would not survive without being able to use them"
" Just look at you...a Spartan the best warriors humans have to offer who is on par in fighting ability of a standard elite warrior....just look at me compared to you an old man and yet even with time pushing down on my bones I still am a foot taller....I have yet to meet a Spartan who is better then me....I have a trophy case back home on Sangehelios to prove how many of the best of your kind I have bested in combat single handedly. Just ask the worm known as Elias he can confirm that I killed all of his comrades only sparing him because he is such a weak pathetic worm " (OOC True fact Katar killed the members of Elias's team that were with him on a misson....this is why Elias hates Katar so much )
" Also think of this Spartan if you are the only warriors here then why do you need my kinds help in defeating these Gods...can't the true warriors handle this problem on their own " said Katar who would of commanded all the elites to just leave right now but the Spartan had sealed them here. " what is keeping me from abandoning my personal support and arguing that his war would be complete waste of time and resources to my kind Demon "

"And yet, I've killed hundreds of your kind when your standard Elite would be lucky to kill just one of us," Chandler said, then shaking his head.
"You're still worshipping Gods who have been proven false, proven false by us, the Humans; your enemy. That's why you fought us in the first place, isn't it? Because you were jealous of us. You're just a bunch of split-lips with daddy issues; angry because your Gods loved us more than you,"
Chandler depolarised his visor and stared into Katars eyes, "You're pathetic, your whole race is. Yes, you're here now, helping us, because we share a common enemy, not because we needed your help. You have been affected by the Rifters just as we have, this mission was for nothing more than revenge, and revenge I respect,"
"Give it up, Katar," Chandler whispered, "Your Prophets led you down a false path, you were betrayed by a race less civilised but much stronger, and now, your Gods are outside, wanting your blood," Chandler took a step back and looked up and down at the Elite, "You are broken, you are an old, stubborn, broken Elite."

" Who is to say these Gods are what the Forerunner represent just because they are the same species does not mean they are the ones we worship....who is to say that they are not a faction of the Forerunner that were exiled from society because of their wickedness " said Katar addressing the issue that the Gods were killing them.
" Common enemey Spartan.....if I am not mistaken you came to us begging for assistence against this threat....and you came to me again asking for my support to help you fight against this threat; they do not have quarrel with us Spartan they only fight us because we are with you "
"
" Perhaps the false Prophets were jealous Spartan but definety am not jealous of your kind....yes The Great Journey is false I thank you humans for making that clear"
" If you really want to tackle this threat alone go ahead that is fine by me I care little for the fate of your so called superior race . I am perfectly fine with withdrawing my elites here...hell I am even fine with starting another war against your race "
" And no Spartan it is your race who is pathetic you are dieing out not us...our numbers and world counts are perfecttly fine...if not better "

"You son of a bitch, Rifters are a threat to us all!" Chandler roared, "If you want to bend over for the Rifters, that's fine with us Humans, but we're not leaving this universe with a whimper,"
"Uh oh," Anau said worriedly, getting Zarra's attention and gesturing to Katar and Chandler.
"I came to you under orders, Katar, if I had a choice, you would still be on your rock trying to figure out how to scrape off the what's left of my kind," said Chandler, "The Human race is devastated, yes, but we power on because we are strong, because we rely on each other and help each other. Your kind relies on technology, and lies,"
"If you want to leave Katar, you won't get far; I guarantee the Rifters are making their way inside right now... oh, and get one of the younger and stronger Elites to try and pry these doors open, I wouldn't want you straining yourself,"
Felling victorious, Chandler continued walking towards another Forerunner door, "Get it in your head, you old fool, we're better than you, and there's nothing you can do about it."

Katar growled he could not take this humans cocky attitude and his blindless of his species status in the universe plus his ignorance of Elite culture. So Katar did the first thing that came to his mind and punched Chandler right in the face....nobody called Katar an old fool or declared him phyically weak and did not go unpunished.

Darman spun towards the sound of the argument, his MA5 levelled on the Councillor. "Awaiting orders, Chief," he said with an almost unnatural calm. Now was hardly the time to revolt, especially with these Rifters breathing down their necks. He jerked the charge handle on his carbine, the double clack echoing through the otherwise silent air.

Russ literally cowered in fear at the moment that Chandler had been punched in the face. Very few people could know when Spartans saw fear, and Russ had fear written over him. He gripped his MBR so tight he swore he might break it.

The force of Katar's punch sent Chandler to the floor.
"Oh hell no!" raged Lachlan, drawing his side arm, but not pointing it anywhere but the ground.
Shocked, Chandler sat up and took off his helmet. Broken. First his shoulder piece and now his helmet, it just wasn't his day. He stood up and drew his Assault Rifle, other Humans did the same.
"You hit me..." he growled, attempting to contain his rage, "I didn't like that," He lifted his rifle with one hand and pointed it at Katar, he had thirty two chances to put this Elite down. He only needed one.
Anau growled and ran to Katars side, Plasma Rifles at the ready, "Stand down, Human!"
Now Lachlan rose his pistol.
Humans one side of the hallway, Elites the other. Now was the worst time for a feud, but none the less...
"You going to apologise for that?" Chandler asked Katar, frowning.
(OoC: Maybe Zarra could have an emotional outburst to stop us from killing each other?)
