As the Phantom docked with the Assault Carrier, entire continents of the planet once known as New Jerusalem sank into the abyss. The volcanic eruptions were of such epic scale they could be seen from orbit, like hundreds of atomic bombs detonating simultaneously. New Jerusalem was lost.
Zaku's Phantom set down in the hanger where a small medical station was ready for those arriving Phantoms. Anau and a squad mate helped Zarra have a comfortable landing for the descent of the gravlift. "Come, we'll get that leg of yours checked," Anau said to Zarra, while giving the Elite that assisted him a nod of appreciation.

Chandler and Charlie both left the Pelican at the same time and exchanged looks. He, bruised, bleeding, scared and covered some sort of black discharge from the Rifters rifle, and she, clean face, small lips, emotionless eyes and short black-as-death hair, went their separate ways. Lachlan sat back in his seat and sighed with relief, "I... am so glad that's over," he chuckled, "Thanks for your help, mate," he said, extending his left arm back to the Spartan sitting in the co-pilots seat behind him, "It's Lachlan, by the way," he held out his head for the Spartan to shake.

A few minutes later one of the medics at the medical station got around to Zarra. The medic was careful but Zarra still winced in pain several times throughout the examination. "It may be broken," the medic finally said, "I don't have the equipment to check for it here. You will need to go to the medbay and have one of the physicians there see to it." Zarra sighed, disliking the thought of going to the medbay. "If it is broken it isn't very bad," the medic reassured her, "It shouldn't take too long to heal."

Anau stood by while the medic examined Zarra's leg. He couldn't help but wonder why it was always her that got injured on the battlefield. This particular thought sparked the memory of their campaign on The Ark, where she suffered several Brute Shot rounds to the chest. She was truly the bravest warrior Anau knew, also the most stubborn. Which probably meant that Anau's next question wasn't worth asking, "That's good, thank you," he told the medic. "Would you like to head down to the medbay, Zarra?"

"I don't really want to go," Zarra sighed again, "But I suppose it's better than letting it heal wrong and being crippled for the rest of my life." She looked at Anau and chuckled, "I'm not that stubborn. Let's go, I guess."

(OoC: What happened xD) Anau smiled and nodded, "It'll be for your own good, come on I'll take you there," A medic handed Zarra a device like a cane to help her walk and pointed in the general direction of a medbay. "I'm sure we'll just be in and out."

((OoC: Mitch was just holding a Commando Elite at knife point on the Pelican and calling him things that I shall not repeat. xD And @ Mitch: I'm not deleting my entire post; I liked it and Danny already replied to it. )) Zarra held the cane awkwardly and diverted her eyes, a little embarrased, at the sympathetic looks of some of the Elites that they passed by. "Yes, it is for the best," she said quietly, "I know for sure that I would not be very happy with a permanant injury."

(OOC If you want to piss someone off then through a wine bottle (thats full) at them come on this is standard proceedure...or you know as odd as this sounds you could ask the person on the thread or via PM want to fight)
Katar walked to greet the refugees human and elite alike as much as he deep down resented the humans it was the right thing to do...he could dislike them on the inside or to a select few who did dare oppose or confront him. He shook his head he had to focus he could go back to his daydreams and dreams later. He walked into the hanger honor guard trailing behind as usual normally they were cool and allowed him to go places without their escort or assistence but things could get hectic they claimed they had seen videos of humans reacting to disasters and things tended to get crazy and well they would try to do their soul duty of protecting the Councilor while they tried to keep order and direct people. He wished he could bring the new hunters (that had all spilt from another) he had just trained but he did not want to scare the humans. (OOC I thought Hunters would make excellent body guards seeing their toughness and loyalty to each other and their roles are guards of ship masters). He walked up the the Pelican with the Spartan in charge. " Hello De..Spartan" said Katar as he extended his arm to the Demon.

The few Rifter ships still present clawed their way free of New Jerusalem's burning atmosphere in a desperate attempt to escape the destruction they had wrought on the planet. The stragglers of the now-gone fleet either rocketed from the conflagrating colony, or were obliterated in the blaze. The Radiant Jewel received the last Phantom as the mighty Assault Carrier lurched upward, making a bid for safety. Fire roared up like the many tongues of a mad beast; molten crust was belched from the bowels of the now-incandescent human colony; ash and smoke reached their shadowy tendrils out of the chaos. The Assault Carrier continued to climb, gaining speed like a great juggernaut, outracing one of the three straggling Rifter ships that hadn't left with the rest of the Rifter fleet.
-------------------------
Zaku continued bellowing at the top of his rather impressive lungs. Sangheili crew members frantically moved their hands over pinkish holodisplays, purple and white light flickering in the Command Nucleus. Honor Guard Sangheili for the Councilors staggered about, trying to stay upright against the sudden pull of the G-Forces, but Zaku never faltered while storming about the bridge and commanding harshly and loudly. The nine foot-tall Ship Master roared, "Increase maximum engine output! Give it more! If we don't get more, we won't get away from this magma bomb!" The blue-eyed Zealot then spat at a gunner, "Divert all weapons energy into the engines! We either overload the damn things, or get away faster than any Carrier has!"

"Councillor," Chandler greeted, shaking it's hand awkwardly; first time he had done that with an alien. The old war-torn Elite stood before Chandler with his shrink or something behind him, being in a polite mood, Chandler gave that Elite a nod. "I'm Chandler 0-5-6. Who are you and what can I do for you?"
***
Anau opened the medbay door and to his surprise he found everything in order. There were no panicking medics or the screams of wounded. Every injured Elite had a bed or had been dealt with. Anau huffed delightfully and waved over another medic. "We were told to come here," Anau explained, "The medic in the hanger said her leg might be broken, anything you can do for her?"
***
"Mitch, ey?" Lachlan said, shaking the Spartans hand and then taking Kelly's chip from the panel. "Sounds Canadian," He stood up and out of the pilots seat and walked past the Spartan into the troop bay. The ODSTs and Marines had left, but he could see the other Spartan with white Security armour standing outside talking to a familiar Elite, "Well I'll be buggered, I think I know that Elite. Well I don't know him, just seen him a lot, he would hang around an Elite I actually did know. I'll ask him if he's here later," Lachlan said, mainly to himself. Surprisingly, the thought of possibly seeing split-lip again excited Lachlan.

"'Yairum," said the medic as she approached, "I see you're still running headlong into danger. It seems nothing has been able to stop you yet, though." She looked at Anau for a moment and grinned, "Perhaps becoming a warrior isn't a bad idea." The medic turned back to Zarra. "Well, let me see what you've done to yourself this time," she said, helping Zarra over to a seat. She took out a device and used it to scan the injury, then looked at the image that showed up on it's screen. "Hmm, I do see a small fracture. I don't think there's much that can be done about it, though. I'll go get a second opinion and see if I can find something that will make it a little more comfortable." She hurried off, and returned a few minutes later with a light, removable bandage, which she wraped around Zarra's leg. "That's the best I can do. I don't think I have to remind you to keep off it until it's healed." "Don't worry," said Zarra with a smile, "And thank you." The ship suddenly shuddered as she spoke and the lights dimmed slightly. "I've never felt the ship accelerate this much before," said the medic worriedly, "I hope it's just a precaution. The blast wouldn't reach this far, would it?"

"No, I don't think so," Anau replied to the medic, while he moved behind Zarra, "I'm sure it is just a precaution, the shipmaster is just getting us to a very safe distance, very fast," he chuckled, putting his hands on Zarra's shoulders for balance. "Thank you for taking care of her leg."

(ooc responsible for declaring war with the vote of all councilors on the Security Council but Katar alone can't do a thing he just reads the veredict of war and proposes defensive installations and is given command of the small Sangheli Militia in times of crisis at home) "first I want to know if you need anything, secound I am here to inform you that my guard will be keeping an eye on things here to ensure that everything is under control and lastly I need you to tell me everything you know about The Rifters classified or not so I know what to tell at the next Security-Military meeting....if you want more private quaters we can move to mine Spartan" said Katar

"Alright, we'll go to your quarters and I'll tell you what I know in private," Chandler replied, giving the Elite a nod. Hated their kind, but he still respected all kinds of authority.
