"Good shot," Anau praised, moving away from the corner of the street and running towards the crashed Banshee, towards Zarra. "Did the pilot survive?" he asked, arriving with the rest of the squad.

"Maybe... No... I think I felt a pulse, but I can't find it now," said Zarra, "Let's see if we can get him out of the vehicle, then it will be easier to tell." A few Elites came forward to help, and tried to remove their fallen comrade from the wreckage, but stopped when they found that he was pinned inside the Banshee by shrapnel and couldn't be freed. Zarra checked for a pulse again and shook her head, "He's gone. There's nothing we can do."

"Yes sir, thank you, sir." Nesa replied, nervously. It was awhile since anyone ever complimented her. She soon joined Zarra and the others. "Ma'am, I'm also a field medic. Perhaps I could be useful here?"

Zarra stood, shaking her head again. "Not this time, I'm afraid," she sighed, "His wounds were too great." She turned to the rest of the squad. "Now stay alert, there may be more enemies," she ordered, "Head for the objective; we must continue on. There are those who still live that need us."

"I'm telling you, they're Elites," Nat whispered, scrambling over her cousin to get a better view. "There's no way to tell for sure," Bobby responded, pushing her aside and moving down the sewer. "That's a crashed Banshee," she said, creeping after him, "They're holding plasma weapons, and I think I heard one of them say 'wort'!" "Shhh!" Bobby snapped, "Those things are still out there, they're everywhere, we need to stay here, keep our heads down, and wait for-..." Nat had heard enough, she rolled her eyes and climbed up a ladder and out of the sewer. She could hear Bobby rushing after her, so she quickly rushed across the street and stood in front of the Elites. "I was expecting Marines, but you'll do," she smiled, "Welcome to New Jerusalem," Bobby had caught up with her by then and approached the Elites aiming his hunting rifle, "Stay back! They could be working with them!" "Jesus, Bobby." Nat sighed.

The Elites in the front of the group suddenly stopped. "What's wrong," Zarra asked, making her way forward. "This," growled a Minor pointing his plasma rifle at the small figures in front of him. "Calm yourself, it's only a coulple of humans," Zarra sighed. "It has a weapon," the Minor warned. "It would be a fool not to in this place," said Zarra. "Lower your rifle, Minor," she ordered, "Now." He obeyed. "We are here to help these creatures," Zarra continued, "If you don't like it, you should have stayed on the ship." She turned to the humans, studying them, "You do not appear to be warriors. What are you doing in this place?"

"This place used to be our home," Nat answered. "We nearly lost it to your kind once before," Bobby growled, keeping his weapon raised. "Bobby, those ships took off once these guys arrived. If it weren't for these Elites, those things would have probably found us," Nat tried to explain. "I'd rather be taken away by the Things then let these Elites shoot us in the back," Bobby muttered, lowering his rifle. "Anyway," Nat sighed, focusing on the Elite that seemed to be in charge, "Do you know what they are, this enemy? They came out of no where. They just landed and started taking everybody, the fighting only lasted maybe an hour before they got into the city," "They're taking Humans?" Anau asked. "Mmhmm," nodded Nat with a depressed look, "I don't know where, it was the last time I saw my family. They took them, alive," "We'll get them back," Anau said, giving the female an assuring nod.

Zarra studied the humans a few moments longer. They seemed very young, but they might have only appeared that way to her, due to how small and frightened they looked. "First we need to get you to safety," she said, "The battlefield is no place for civilians. As for the creatures that are invading the city, I don't know what they are, only that I have heard them called Rifters." "They're murderers!" One of the Elites piped up, followed by roars of agreement. "They killed our brothers!" "They have attacked us too," Zarra nodded, "Though not as directly." She turned to the squad, "We should find where the human soldiers are stationed, they will know more about what is happening, and perhaps they will have a safe place for these civilians."

The sound of pouring water slowing awoke Mitch from his unconsiousness. His eyes flickered open under his de-polarized visor. He groaned as he sat up the best he could inside his pod. After setting his rucksack aside, he looked outside his pod's cracked window to scan his surroundings. There was a sign off in the distance that read: 'NEW JEARUSELEM WATER TREATMENT FACILITY 07'. Good. At least he knew the water rushing on the pod wasen't what he thought it could've been.
After arming the explosive bolts on his pod, Mitch grabbed his rucksack and began to secure all of his weapons. He activated his comm. "Can anyone hear me? I am UNSC Master Sergeant Mitchell Edwin Johnson. I dropped all alone on a classified mission. Can anyone hear me? Anyone at all? Please, respond."

Otto's Phantom flew over the city unit they made it to a war torn square. " end of the line" said Otto from the cockpit. "what" asked an elite. "human expression...this is your stop" said Otto as he hit a random botton that he hoped would be the gravity lift. "human it is that one" said the pilot who was nice enough to teach Otto the basic of flying a Phantom which was like a Pelican. He picked up a transmission from a odst. " This is Commander Strauss I hear you loud and clear where are you" asked Otto over the comn to this odst. He signaled for the pilot to take over the flying and they took off.

Mitch perked up, he wasen't expecting a response. "Sir, I'm at-" he turned around and noticed a squad of Rifters moving in on his position, probably inspected the cause of the damage and noise. Mitch immeadiatly seeked a hiding spot from the Rifters. He remembered his objective, stay illusive and gather intel on the Rifters. he managed to climb into a pipe and hid deep inside it, watching the Rifters inspect the area.

"We're fighting," Nat told the Elite, "I was born here, I'll die here if I have to," "The UNSC are- what's left of the UNSC, is set up on the outskirts of the city," Bobby said, pointing in the general direction of their location. "And there's a Rifter ship sitting in the oppisite direction," Nat added, "It didn't take off when the others did."
***
Everything was silent. Chandler was kneeling as the battle raged around him. He was deep inside his helmet. He watched. The UNSC and Sangheili reinforcements had broken through the Rifter lines and punched straight into the city. For those Humans from Earth, they had only one objective; to kill. Capturing that Rifter ship meant nothing. Every Human wanted one hundred dead Rifters for every single innocent life lost. And it showed. A column of tanks and other kinds of vehicles rolled slowly, but mercilessly through the city towards their objective. What seemed to be a tactical nightmare, the column was devastating the Rifters that had the upper hand. The Rifters were firing from the rooftops and windows of buildings, but they were quickly met by tank rounds. Ammunition seemed to be expendable, and the risk of buildings collapsing meant nothing. Chandler had finally came back to Earth and grasped the handles of his turret and swung it round. He unleashed hell upon an entire floor of an office building while walking along side a tank. On occasion a Phantom or Pelican would hover over the column and drop supplies, then move on to tear up the enemy troops ahead of them. These Humans wanted to show this new threat they were not push overs. Today revenge would be had.

"That is the direction in which we are bound," said Zarra with a nod, "It would save time if we didn't go back... If you are sure you wish to fight, you may very well be an asset to us. I have seen your kind's courage on the battle field, and I do not doubt your fierceness."

" Trooper do you read me...look I can't help you if I don't know where you are" said Otto into the comn to the trooper. (OOC I always imagined something like this would happen when you are trying to avoid detection)
