"You see..." Charlie began. "I think, this is all your fault. You should have just shot it, instead of waiting for me to duck... OK, I hesitated, granted, but still, friendly fire happens, you should have just taken the shot," she sighed. "Why didn't you just take the bloody shot?" she asked, punching Johnny's limp arm. Suddenly, weapons began to fire from the first line, and it was getting closer. "Are they falling back?" Charlie asked herself, looking around the tent. "Yes," croaked a voice. The voice sent fear down her spine and she immediately looked to Johnny's body, who's face was covered by a sheet. A mistake? A joke? She slowly extended her arm till her hand was over the sheet. Her hand began to shake as she lowered it when all of a sudden a dart tore through the fabric of the tent, in one side and out the next. "Shit!" she cried, lowering to the ground and picking up her rifle. She began crawling towards the exit when suddenly someone grabbed her foot. Terrified, she quickly spun over onto her back and aimed her rifle at Johnny's corpse laying peacefully on a stretcher. Her heavy breathing slowed and she got to her feet, running out of the tent to help cover the men retreating from the first line.

Anau sat clueless by a computer terminal. "Let's hurry it up," he ordered, scanning the machine for a button... or something.

"What the bloody hell just happened!?" Lachlan yelled. "It was pretty obvious, weren't you watching, or were you distracted by something again?" Kelly asked him. "Three Covenant carriers and all three were taken down just seconds after coming out of slip-space!" Lachlan said in amazement. "That's some serious fire power," "If that's what it can do against three Covenant carriers, imagine what it can do to us," Kelly said. "Yeah, you're right, lets hope we stay hidden long enough till the f**king cavalry arrives," Lachlan laughed. "Hmm, the Separatists seem to be desperate, I'm reading a slip-space rupture," Kelly said. "Well that can't be right, why would they send more ships to the scrap heap?" Lachlan asked her. "It does seem a little odd, I've been monitoring the communications of the cruiser that crashed onto the planets surface, it hasn't made any since the crash, the last signal that was transmitted was moments before and that was a mayday," Kelly said, placing her hand under he chin. "Then... who are these fellas?" Lachlan asked, looking at Kelly, who looked up at him. They both then looked out the window to see the unknown ships exit the portal.

"No, mercy, no chance, no hope," Ioannes said to himself. "Get into formation and pick a target," he said over the radio. "Crewmen, target their assault ship, let us see if this is a fair fight,"

Russell was woken up by an alert. He had a FEAR 2 EPA-style HUD, a custom that showed how his power armor was doing (in terms of damage), the shield levels, ammunition for his weapon(s), his grenades and explosives, and, most importantly, his own health. There would be a rectangular-style warning if his shields went down saying "RUN!". This warned him to get to cover.
He was relaxing and then a warning appeared. "Front Lines Under Siege." Russell quickly snapped up his BR55, holstered his SRS99D, and ran towards the frontlines to fight.

Zarra tapped the terminal's screen, and frowned. "This whole place is a puzzle," she murmured. "No more sudden discoveries?" she asked Anau, taking a seat beside him, "You were really on a roll back there."

Anau chuckled and looked at her. "True, but when it comes to computers I hit a dead end," he laughed, turning back to the screen. "There has to be some kind of communication node in this place." He looked at Zarra again, smiled and moved onto another terminal. "This one looks different to the others," he said, noticing it had only a large portrait screen and a very small keyboard with very few buttons located on a small terminal on the floor. Using his feet, he pushed in the buttons in and waited. Nothing. He sighed and moved onto the next computer console. "Greetings," Anau stopped and turned around slowly to see the projection of an Elite wearing robes, coming from the console. "... Katar, get over here," (OoC: Anyone can use this AI, it's a freelance character Go ahead and use it to contact Sanghehlios)

"Ha, ha!" Zarra hurried over to take a look. "How did you do that?" she wondered, "I've never seen such good fortune."

"Construct I need you to contact the Council" said Katar to the AI. "yes sir contacting High Charity now..it is so good that I will have communication with the outside world" said the AI. (Ooc He has no idea of the events after this machine was built on this world and he was inserted into it as well I guess he has just been turned on after a few years or so of dormancy). "I am afraid High Charity has been destroyed..contact Sanghelios" said Katar. "is that where the Prophets chose to relocate..I would of thought they would of used the Dreadnaught" said the AI. Katar paused not knowing how to respond as this AI might become rampant if it learned the truth. "erm..yes and don't be surprized if an Elite High Councilor answers as well you know how busy Prophets are" said Katar. "noted" said the AI as it waited for the signal to arrive and then be sent to the captial and then be processed to the Council. "do not inform him of the events that have happened we must lie to this Construct if he wish for it to stay sane as I fear it may lose its mind if it learns the truth" whispered Katar as he put his hand over his mouth so the AI could not read his lips. "what was that about" asked the AI. "stay focused on your task Construct" said Katar. "yes sir" said the AI.
*** "wow that was fast..we already under counterattack" said Specs. "no it has something to do with those ships up there" said Sarah. "oh great a new enemey" said Specs as he got up off the ground then helped Sarah up. "we don't know that for sure" said Sarah. "all other intelligent alien life he have made first contact with hated us and attacked us" said Specs. "no the Forerunner didn't hate us" said Sarah. "yeah because we were alot stupider back then" said Specs.
*** "crush them prepare all weapons for firing" said Zoran as he saw the enemey ships in orbit. "how do we know if they are our enemey" asked Salarz. "do not question me brother..man the weapons console and be silent" said Zoran as he pointed to the empty console. "yes brother" sighed Salarz as he sat down. He looked at this world. "let us see what is new world has to throw against us" said Zoran to himself.

Russell ran up to the front lines and then looked. Three CCS battlecruisers. He flicked off his warning message with a thought. He continued to stare up at these ships.

(OoC: Spartana034, this is not F.E.A.R. 2, these ships are not CCS battlecruisers. This is Halo, these are Rifter ships, in orbit, in space, out of view)
"The activator," the construct said, as Anau approached it. "Hello," Anau replied, cautious of his words. "How long have you been in the place?" "Far too long," The AI replied. "I see, were you left behind for a reason?" Anau asked. "I was left to monitor the planets surface, as the years passed, I soon was required to deactivate to conserve power," the AI said. "I see, how's that signal coming?" Anau asked. "The slip space ruptures and battle above are interfering with the signal, I don't know why, but don't threat, I can bounce the signal off another world, it will just take more time," the AI replied. "Another battle? Can you identify the factions?" Anau asked. "I'm affraid not, I am not able to complete three tasks at once, but a quick scan I preformed earlier indicates neither are Covenant nor Human," "Interesting," Anau thought.

"Are they fighting amongst themselves?" Zarra wondered. She wandered across the room, looking at the other terminals to see if any of them displayed more information, but she didn't see anything of interest until she came across a few messages at the bottom of one of the screens. She read it carefuly, but decided it wasn't the best time to mention it.

"The task is done," The AI said proudly. "I have set up a connection, look at me and speak as if you were talking to the Counselor," "Thank you," Anau said, stepping in front of the AI. "This is Special Operations Commander Anau Nadum' are you receiving me?" "Yes Commander, what is the mission status?" the AI replied, speaking for the counselor. "We have reached the beacon and have confirmed a human presence on the colony," Anau said. "What about the second unknown life form?" the AI asked. "An error, the equipment in this facility is old, unchecked," Anau replied. "Hmm, very well then, what are the humans doing?" the AI asked. "As far as we can tell, they are exploring worlds previously glassed," Anau replied. "We did not want to intrude," "Understandable," the AI said. "Commander, why can I not contact the two Cruisers escorting you? I want their Ship Masters to give me a status report," "I don't know sir, perhaps it's interference from surface radiation, maybe the humans have set up some kind of communications blocker," "Then if there is nothing else, return to Sanghelios," the AI said. "Is there anything else?" Anau thought for a moment, how would they return home? He then looked at Katar, the truth had to be told. "Counselor, there's more," Anau said, standing tall and putting his arms behind his back. "Oh?" replied the AI. Anau took in a breath and openned his mouth. "Sir, it was an ambush, our two escorting carriers have been destroyed and we have crashed onto the planets surface, the human activity is unknown, the unknown life form still remains unknown, but they a strong, too strong," "I don't understand, is this some kind of joke?" The AI asked. "Do not send reinforcements," Anau replied. "The unknown life forms are currently battling another unknown life form, they may be human reinforcements," "And what if they are not?" the AI growled. "Then we will wait for them to leave, then we will contact you again," Anau said. "I assume the counsellor and ship mistress are unaware of your lies?" the AI asked. "Of course," Anau replied. "I took it upon myself to lie," "If you make it back Commander, I will be talking with you," the AI growled. "What action will you be taking, you understand that this foe is too powerful, don't you?" Anau asked. "I need to talk with the other counsellors, I will call you back," The AI suddenly flickered. "End transmission," he said. "Power supplies are low, I will reactivate when the Counsellor calls," The AI disappeared into the console and Anau took a step back. "They needed to know," he sighed. "Lying to the counsel would be insulting the dead,"

Zarra walked back over to Anau, and put her hand on his shoulder, trying to be comforting. "Surely they understand. This is a difficult situation; they must understand."

"I'm sure they understand why I lied, but that isn't my concern, they think I lied without Katar or Inwa's consent, I'm such a fool, I should have just spoken the truth," he sighed. "Katar, you should answer when the counselor calls back, don't let him know we had all agreed to lie, shift the blame on me, there will be less political damage that way," he said, forcing a little laugh, he hated politics. He smiled at Zarra and walked back up the stairs and exited the facility.

Zarra hesitated a moment, looking around the room at the others, then followed Anau up the stairs. "I don't really know what I can say to help you," she said, catching up with him. "What will they do? Will they punish you?" her voice carried a note of fear, "Is it a serious offense?"

"not to worry Commander you did what you had to do I will make sure of it that you are not punished" said Katar. "I know your intentions are good and I will be there when the Council needs to see you defending you" said Katar. Katar paused and tried to think of the answer for Zarras question it was hard because his head was filled with all of the rules and regulations of the old Covenant. " I am afraid I don't have an answer to that Zarra at least a modern answer" said Katar hesitantly as he did not want them to know that in the old days that could be considered some shape or form of heresey.

"The council would not do such a thing, would they? Not to worry... The more you worry. The worse it will be. For all you have done for the council, surely they would not punish you for it." Verllan'a said, trying to comfort him.
