www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVTKHI5ovycWatch this video. (thank my AP Psychology teacher for showing me this Friday) First of all does all of this surveillance by the government bother you? Is this video right in saying that people are only good when "the camera's or watching"(or they that they are being watched) or because they fear the consequences for the actions. (Such as stealing a wallet that is sitting in the middle of the road and there are no people around? Do you leave it there because stealing is wrong or because you fear that you will be caught stealing (by another person or a hidden camera, etc) And also another issue is it right to give up civil liberties and freedoms for safety? Remember everyone you are being watched by The All Seeing Eye of The Law, The Panopticon. (no not me )

First of all, it would depend on the amount. Having the usual cameras and stuff to catch speedsters and observe for things does help things along, but the gov't should know when to let off for privacy, because you'll then cross the line into 1984.
It's not right: some are inherently good. Others are bad. But everyone has to act good, whether they're good or not, because the Panopticon is watching them.
Finally... no. I'd rather die at a protest than live in a dictatorship.
And related item: Wal-Mart is apparently starting to combat terrorism by asking shoppers to report suspicious activity. Another facet to add to the debate which relates to the Panopticon.
