I'm surprised nobody else put it down, seeing as it IS November 11th.
Anyways, this thread has been hammer into place by moi to serve as a place to remember all the soldiers who have died fighting for causes they may or may not have believed in. It's to remember the brave men and women who have sacrificed themselves in the War To End All Wars, its sequel, it's grittier reboot, and it's Modern Warfare spinoff. (I'm talking about World Wars I, II, the Cold War, and the whole fight in the Middle East, of course.)
As a Newf, this would strike me particularily hard if I was older: during a battle in WWI (I think it was the Somme), the Royal Newfoundland Regiment charged into battle but got ambushed by German machine guns. The next day, when the fight was over, only 60 men were fit for duty: over 90% of the Royal Newfoundland Regiment was either dead or so heavily wounded that they were considered unable to fight.
So if there's anyone you know here who died fighting, whether it be a family member or a friend, or someone else, whoever it may be, who died - whether physically or spiritually - due to war, then this is the thread to remember them in. Lest we forget why they died in the first place: ensuring freedom and justice for all. Of course, with all the people whining and complaining about stuff not being their way around the world, I'm surprised we haven't forgotten that already.
It's been stickied because I deem the service and sacrifice of REAL men and women, who weren't in Halo or Call of Duty and thus were unable to respawn, very important.
Anyways... tl;dr: If there's anyone you know who died, whether past or present, or someone you know who's fighting or has fought, then go ahead and say something here.
