Anyways, Danny stated in the Lockdown thread that since all active members now know of the game's ending, the lockdown's been lifted (ban me for a thousand years and kill all my characters if I'm wrong). So I decided I'd make the first move and make the Halo: Reach Discussion Thread.
Don't mistake this for the Reach thread in Halo OOC, this is about the game.
Anyways, DISCUSSION BEGINS NAO (unless we use the Lockdown threat, in which case I'll destroy this one).
Also, I would like to say that if you haven't finished Halo: Reach's singleplayer campaign yet, LEAVE THIS THREAD NOW. Otherwise, if you have not finished continue at your own risk, as the thread may permanently destroy the feeling of playing Halo: Reach's campaign and finding out things.
As for my two cents, this game manages to keep the message that the SPARTAN Program as a whole is the most fatal program to be entered into (there are few survivors: they're either on the Shield World, actually MIA, or, in Marie's case, retired and thus a survivor.)

I love how you're thrown into the boots of Six with the assumption you know all there is to know (or at least a lot) about the Haloverse. They don't go into the backstory or have characters explaining things we should know about. For example Aunti Dot, she's an AI, we all know it, we've all worked with one before. No need to emphasise the fact she is one. But my favourite is Halsey, they don't explain who she is because you ARE a Spartan, you KNOW.
Also, towards the end of Winter Contingency where the Zealots come out of nowhere was the most suspenseful cutscene I have ever watched.

JORGE is the man...too bad he is the 1st to go...because he is so awesome . So it goes: Jorge > 6 > Jun > Carter > Emile > Kat And of course you got to love the Bullfrogs and there death ridden existence . I must say after the Supercarrier is blown up the game goes downhill quickly and the music tends to add to the mood of hopelessness in the game I noticed as I battled my way through Heroic today and part of yesterday. Armor permutations people? SPOILER ALERT I dunno why you here if you are trying to avoid spoilers but QUICKLY SCROLL AWAY Anyone else bothered that Noble Six not John-117 is really responsible for turning the tide of the war or the fact that after the loss of the 2nd military world the Human Covenant Wars tide quickly changes in favor of said people who got their ass kicked (as without Six no Cortana or 1st Halo game at all)

Personally, I loved the game. It was just plain fantastic. To me, the most poignant scenes were ones like when Kat died- war is chaotic, sudden, and cruelly unfair. It's not some glorious venture like the Covenant makes it. It's a real loss of life, as well as of carefully constructed order. I thought that Halo: Reach really did a fantastic job of capturing how wild the battle was- Carter and Jorge nobly sacrificing themselves, Kat and Emile dying suddenly and unexpectedly, Six going down in a blaze of gunfire and death, and Jun simply vanishing from the story altogether.
For me, the Noble Team Rating is: Emile > Jun > Kat > Jorge > Carter
Then it goes: Moa >Covenant > UNSC
=D
------------------------------
As for armor, I set it to preferred species: Elite. I have Spec Ops armor, colored glossy white-and-purple, and I'm working on Ultra. My human is: HAZOP Helmet, HAZOP left shoulder, some other right shoulder, UA/Counterassault chest, and no other fancies yet. The armor is primarily dark green with yellow markings. I'm saving up for a blue or gold visor. =D

I disagree Specs, Noble six wasn't reponsible for everything that happened. John-117 was just as important as Cortana, (and so, Noble Six), not to mention the Arbirter for rallying the Elites against the Covenant. Many other characters that we've seen for years also had an effect on the story. The same things couldn't have been acomplished without all of them, including John. They all were necessary, and had their parts to play, and all are responsible for turning the tide in their own way.

Anyone want to help me find the datapads? Too lazy to find them myself Several things we gotta do: - Group Fightfight and Firefight VS - Run through the campain on Legendary - Go through a campain level without firing a shot (only melee and swords allowed ) - Create (togethet) an EPIC Forge masterpiece or game

I'm up for making an epic map. Legendary should be good with four of us. Anyway, I loved Jorge, he was my favourite. When he realised what he had to do and started talking to Six, I had no idea what he was about to do. When Six said 'That's a one way trip.' I was like "...Jorge?" and then I went epic sad face Jorge > Carter > Kat > Emile > Jun. IMO. This game also seems to bring out the military-ness of some people. I have two examples: New Alexandria with Mitch and Invasion with another friend of mine. Mitch and I were about to hit the last jammer, we've cleared the spiral room thing and we're about to charge the Brutes. M: I'm going to run for the jammer *reloads* L: I'll move right and cover you from above. M: Let's move. That quick little conversation made me feel just awesome And in Invasion: S: (From top of spire) Church, run! There's too many! *laughs* L: No, I got this! (I'm down below being chased by Spartans) S: *Sudden serious tone* Pull back! I'll cover you! L: *Equally serious tone* I got this! *dies* S: *Insert bad word here*!

You guys should make a big house-defense map for Zombies. I made a pretty good one, but.... yeah... No shooting on Legendary sounds stoopud. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gamer Tag: Echo 77 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Crimson Helmet: ODST Shoulders: None Chestplate: HP/HALO Knee Guards: None Visor Color: Default Service Tag: ECHO Emblem: 1Just look for the guy with a DMR and a bag of frags.

Lol I think we are going to stick with it on Normal before we even dream of no shooting on Legendary. Off the top of my head this is what I got: Helmet: CQB with the little camara thingy Chest: Shoulder 1: Recon Shoulder 2: Recon Legs: FPARA....if that is even spelled right Primary Color: Steel 2ndary (<---that abbreivation is awesome ): Red Service Tag thing: SPEC (too bad there is no room for the S) Emblem: Cow/Buffalo Skull (without the secoundary part) with the fire background Primary Emblem: White 2ndary: None Backround: Orange
