Otto stared at himself in the mirror once again in his Spartan armor for what would hopefully be the last time. The UNSC could do what they wanted with the armor as long as he kept his swords...which were provided by him and upgraded by the UNSC to deflect energy swords. He honestly saw no reason to be in his armor as he was just commanding his ship. Too absolutely despised his armor. It made him a monster, a killer, murderer and inhuman to his fellow man. He would rather be remembered as Commander Otto von Strauss then Spartan-410. He walked over to a storage locker and pulled out an Assault Rifle incase the Rifters decided to come aboard his ship not that would be problem as his mixed crew could handle it....especially the few Sangheili Crewmembers that had come with his new ship. As much as he missed his old crew this new mixed crew knew their stuff, the grunts could repair basic things and do basic tasks, the jackles knew their stuff about flying but they were too greedy for his tastes and the Sangheili certainly knew how to operate the ships plasma weapons the best and they behaved nicely with fellow officers on the bridge. *** Katar was fitted into his Combat Councilor Harness....modifed from his former Commando Helmet to look more fearsome and important then a standard elite commando armor. It was white as fresh snow and had the finest gold melted on in decoration. Gold also formed forerunner glyphs. Shoulders armed with a large fearsome spikes and knees armed with spikes as well. This armor would let the Rifters know to mess with Councilor Katar Yamos and the Sangheili. Katar grabbed a Needle Rifle, a few sword batterys and of course the standard pair of plasma gernades before he went to stand next to Sanderson and Chandler. *** Elias was fitted into his Mjolnor Mark V CQC armor. Grabbing two combat knives and a machete and placing them into their approiate places. He grabbed a shotgun the staple of Close Quaters combat.....his favorite. He wished the elites would of brought him his old shotgun that had a brute blade on the end and one the handle but they had accidently forgotten them....of course. He picked up an Assault Rifle too never hurt to have a bit of range. " if this clown does not put with that guy with the AI your going to sneak with him....we need to keep our eyes on him....he has grown suspious of us.....also remember just get to the control room first no matter what.....you work for me....I already payed you....and remember if you coward out I will kill you and your old comrades....thats right I know where they are and well I can dispose of them when I dispose you of meatbag

Zarra caught the rifle and nodded, then looked down to examine the weapon. She didn't have very fond memories of human sniper rifles, particularly their recoil, but the last time she had used one in battle she was suffering from several broken ribs and was trying to shoot left handed, so it hopefully wasn't as bad as she remembered. She strapped the sniper rifle to her back then picked up a plasma rifle and some grenades, along with some extra ammo. She was ready to go.

Darman slowly stepped forward, now fully clad in his antiquated armor, minus the helmet. He stared with startlingly cold eyes and gestured for the rifle. A Spartan near the crate tossed it to him, and he snatched it from the air with a quick swipe of his hand. He slung it across his shoulder, and gave the Commander a quick salute, then quietly returned to his position.

Zaku tested his shields, and they activated with a hum. This was a real set of battle armor. The hulking Sangheili deactivated the overshields, and walked next to Katar, whose armor was just as impressive and ornate. The huge Ship Master listened to Sanderson and Chandler, and once the humans had finished speaking, he growled to Katar, "I will lead the fleet in the charge on the Ring... but I will come down with reinforcements later in the battle, once a path has been cleared."

Justin checked his SMG clips. They were full, and both had extra ammo. The Spartan placed his pistol and shotgun on his armor, and attached a belt of seven frag grenades on his left leg. The green-eyed Spartan pulled on his helmet, and joined Darman, standing and watching. The Hayabusa-armored spartan mentally decided to join the air support group that would land on top of the control tower. He could do more good wielding a machine turret tan he could on the ground.

When she finished collecting the weapons and supplies she needed, Zarra returned to Anau's side and smiled at him, taking his hand and holding it gently. "Are you ready?" she asked, then suddenly tears filled her eyes and she hugged him tightly, "You be careful, alright? I worry about you, you know, as much as you worry about me."

" Very well I have the utmost faith in you Ship Master " said Katar.

With an Energy Sword attached to his lower back and two Plasma Rifles at his thighs, he took Zarra's hand and hugged her, smileing behind his helmet.
"I'll be fine, Zarra, I always am," he said with his helmets added metallic tone, "I want you to be safe as well, in fact, I want you in the Phantom watching over me,"
Before she could react, which he knew she would, he rose his hand and quickly spoke again, "You'll do just as good from the air then on the ground, maybe more good."

Russ managed to get his hands on several regular magazines and a few drum magazines, and he fully loaded them with Battle Rifle ammo.
He then snatched a few 40mm grenades for the launcher, and adjusted the scope for longer range.
Finally, he got himself a good ol' M90 CAWS for self-defense, a Plasma Pistol (much more reliable than the Magnum), and ammo for each, including a few hand and plasma grenades.
He was ready to tear those damn Rifters apart.

Darman sat at a nearby workbench, quietly adjusting the 99D-S2 AM Rifle. He attached it to the appropriate magnetic strip embedded in his amor, and grabbed a strap to carry his MA5K over his shoulder. He left his M6C clicked into the panel on his hip. He then began to grab all the extra ammo he would need to sustain this arsenal. Mags for the carbine, a few clips of pistol ammo, all was crammed into appropriate pouches and pockets. He clipped a pair of fragmentation grenades to his belt, and glanced around the room. Half of the people in this room probably wouldn't even make it to the surface...

Zarra opened her mouth to argue, but she knew he was probably right. She nodded, "I'll have a better vantage point from the Phantom. I'll do all I can to keep you safe... And the others too of course, but you're more important to me than anything else, even my own life, remember that."

"Fleet is in formation," a voice rang out over a speaker, "Report to stations, I repeat; report to stations,"
"Don't say that," Anau said, putting a finger on Zarra's lips, "Your life is infinitely more important than mine, if anything is to happen to me on the Ring, you will do nothing foolish, understand?"
"The time is now," muttered Chandler, "There's a Phantom in the hanger, it'll take you from Eden to the Radiant Jewel if you choose to be part of team two. Otherwise, the Pelican will take you to a Frigate for the Slip-Space jump,"
He then stomped out of the armoury and made his way towards the hanger.
Anau sighed and took Zarra into his chest, "But I'll be fine, there will be no reason for either of us do anything stupid, now come on," Anau then led Zarra out of the armoury and headed towards the hanger.

"It's been a while," Kelly commented, noticing Lachlan's hands planted firmly on the Pelican controls. Still. He had been sitting there for a few minutes now.
The Pilot nodded, "Never thought I'd be sitting in one of these things again,"
"Well you are," Kelly bluntly said, "I hope you haven't become accustomed to the slow-paced life of space freighting, there's going to be explosions and a whole lotta things moving very, very fast,"
Lachlan sighed, fogging up the visor of his helmet, "I can do this Kelly, I can't imagine it'll be anything harder than The Ark,"
The yellow AI went silent and frowned, before pointing out; "You were shot down..."
"That was after I punched through the Covie ships and atmosphere, and because you failed to mention the two Banshees on my tail,"
"Failed to mention!? I screaming 'Incoming! Incoming!' was 'failing to mention'!?"
The two got into a heated argument when suddenly the Pelican bay doors opened themselves up and a loud thud echoed through the craft.
"Chandler," Lachlan began, "Ignore everything the AI says, it's goin crazy,"
The Spartan clad in brilliant white coloured Security armour thudded into the cockpit and sat in the co-pilots seat, "Keep focussed."
***
"Are you in there? Can you hear me?"
'It's cold,"
"I know, give it a few minutes,"
'How long?'
"Five years,"
'Why?'
"We've got a lot to catch you up on."

"You are worth so much more than you think," said Zarra quietly, kissing the side of Anau's helmet, "I'll be careful if you'll be careful. However valuable my life is, it wouldn't be worth nearly as much to me if I lost you."

Anau nodded, wishing he didn't have a helmet on for that.
"I'll be careful if you are, deal?"
