((OOC/ How about the Phantom is sent down a little bit later, in an attempt to surprise the Rifters? Like while the others are fighting their way towards it, the Phantom tries to land at the Control Room complex, but is shot down outside of it? Maybe is smashes into the side and everyone has to jump off the Phantom and onto the facility wall before it goes "BOOM"? So we could have a cool scene where the group is desperately fighting for their lives on a veranda/balcony with some crates while the rest of the characters try to get up there and rescue them?))

((OOC/ How about Elias is in the group that is shot down, so when they get to the control room, Grim infects the Array with his data core. Justin sees what he's doing, and shoots him. Elias survives, but is knocked out, and Eo uploads himself into the Halo, and they duke it out. How about Eo uses the holoarrays to tell them to leave, and he sets the self-destruct for the Halo? Like, Eo and Grim duel to the death in the server before it blows up.
If you want Grim to survive, you could have him send himself as a file through the communications to, say, a Rifter frigate floating dead in space before the Array goes boom?))

((OoC: Moving on. We need a Ooc thread for this. )) "With every new set of armor, they always manage to make it even more difficult to put on," Zarra grumbled from one of the dressing rooms in the armory, as she fumbled with the fastenings on her new armor. She paused a moment to look at herself in the mirror, "This set looks nicer at least, last time I think they just repainted a set of armor meant for a medic and put a better shield generator in it."

"Hm? Oh, yes, you always have difficulties with armour, don't you?" Anau asked from his changing room, distracted by his new set of armour.
Gloss silver... not what he was used to.
He tightened his shoulder pads and then bent down to pick up his helmet. He held it in his hands for a moment before spinning it over and placing it over his head.
Oxygen rushed into the sealed mask as his suit came to life. His heads up display flickered, symbols and words flashed before him as the suit ran a diagnostic. Everything was in order.
He stepped out of the changing room and waited for Zarra. His new suit seemed lighter than the first, maybe more manoeuvrable as well. He felt strong to be in a Commando harness once again, though he still didn't have his rank, or any rank for that matter.
While he waited for Zarra, he moved over to a weapons canister and picked up a Plasma Rifle to analyse it. It had been five years, there could have been a few changes to the weapon.

Darman looked around the room. While everyone was being outfitted with the latest versions of MJOLNIR, a group of technicians approached him, carrying his antiquated suit of Mark V. "You do realize there's been... what, fifteen updates to this fossil since it was issued. Why don't you upgrade? Finding parts for this thing is a real pain in the neck." The technician waited a moment longer, then began suiting him up. The second man muttered to the first. "He doesn't talk. Not since Reach." The tech nodded, somewhat confused, but continued suiting him up. Several minutes later, he locked his helmet into place, listening to the silent hiss as the suit pressurized. Spartan-070 commenced the diagnostic sequence, and several green lights winked on. He waved the techs off, and they proceeded to equip the next Spartan. While he was long overdue for a new suit, he had refused on countless occasions. The ancient armor was part of who he was.
And it was the last thing he had left to count on.

Zaku examined his reflection in the mirror, unabashedly admiring himself. The hulking Zealot had traded his utilitarian, but still noticeable, Ship Master armor for that of an older set- an old Ship Master set, much more ornate and akin the the Warlords of old. The helmet was ornate and fan-shaped with many platinum Forerunner hieroglyphs carved into it. The Several crystal beads hung from various parts of the fan-shaped helmet, decorations from ancestor's battles. The shoulder plates were huge and gaudy, and each had one enormous glyph made of solid platinum. His arm guards, spikes sticking out a distance on either side of them, were shinier gold than the rest of the armor. His right armguard had a Sangheili Shield Gauntlet attached to it, and the left had an attachment that held his energy sword. The chestpiece and legs were less ornate, but each featured metallic ripples. The feet each had a large spike on the back, made of solid gold. The back of the chestpiece wielded six medium-size gold spines, each housing a small shield generator. Zaku grinned, spreading his mandibles outward. This armor was called the "Juggernaut" for a reason.
Zaku turned, seeing Zarra. The hulking Zealot waved once, then turned to the weapons lockers. He proceeded to latch his energy sword to his left wrist, and placed a Plasma Rifle on his waist. Then, he drew out his new favorite... The Plasma Grenade Launcher. Zaku calmly inserted a clip of six grenades, and stored four more clips on his armor. This would be fun....

Zarra stepped out of the dressing room, still arranging her helmet. She glanced around the room and caught sight of Anau near a weapons canister. "Hmm," she smiled, as she joined him, "You look very nice."

"Thank you," Anau replied, keeping his eyes fixed on the rifle, "... I think I've put on weight," he chuckled, looking away and focussing on Zarra.
"You look great," he smiled.
At that time, Sanderson stepped into the armoury with Chandler by his side. The Humans and Sangheili armed themselves or traded and discussed weapons. Sanderson smiled to himself and coughed, attempting to get the groups attention.
"You'll be divided into two teams, one will land as close to the Control Room as possible in a Pelican, under fire, and clear an LZ at the top of the control room for team two. So those that want team one, be ready to fight. Team two will be in three Phantoms, carrying artillery I want positioned at the top of the control room, and will be covering team one from the air during their assault,"
"So it's simple, if you want team one, get in the Pelican. Team two, the Phantom,"
Sanderson gave the group a nod and left the armoury. Chandler then stepped forward and took up an Assault Rifle and a few extra clips. "I want a Spartan with a Sniper Rifle on this op, who's got the best aim?"

((OoC: Just volunteer. )) Zarra smiled at Anau, then looked up to listen to the human go over the mission, and the Spartan's anouncement afterward. She stepped forward, "I'm not a Spartan but I have good eyes and a steady aim," she offered, "I was a sniper on a Special Operations team."

Chandler eyed the Elite that volunteered, he wasn't expecting one of them to step forward.
"I said Spartan," Chandler moaned, then stepping over to an ammo crate and pulling up a Sniper Rifle.
"I can vouch for this Elite's accuracy," Anau said, glaring at the Spartan through helmet.
"Fine," he moaned again, tossing the rifle to the female one, "Zarra, isn't it?"
