OKAY.... I have to say that the first Mass Effect RP we started was fun, but kinda convoluted and very, very short-lived. I was thinking.... maybe we could start a new one? If we do, I have a few ideas on how to fix the errors it had.
(1) Better storyline: The shitty storyline (which I am mostly responsible for ) really inhibited the RP's ability to grow. I was kinda making it up as I went, which made it a collossal failure, because I suck at ad-libbing stories. So, I have a story suggestio farther down. =D
(2) Posting: Again! My fault! I was in charge of it, and I pretty much hid when I didn't feel like posting, which I definitely should not have done, because it severely cut down much activity from anyone else when the leader wouldn't move the RP on further. So my fault, and I would remedy it by being more active in posting. =)
(3) Character relationships: Almost none of our characters had anything in common, and as such, had pretty much jack-squat to talk about. So I recommend we make characters that could interact a little better. But this isn't a change I see as necessary, because we could just compensate with more actively making our characters talk to each other. =P

Okay. Now that I posted that useless garbage up there, let's move on. Proposed storyline? Somewhat less grandiose, and therefore far easier to do. Hear me out, kay?
STORY:
The characters we play are mercs/smugglers/pirates (ARRR!!!) who have recently raided a Blue Suns Supply Cache. The assembled crew of the Thin Ice is on Omega when a group of Blue Suns attack them in Afterlife. The crew defeats them, but before Aria can get them and start asking questions, they quickly bolt for the ship and escape while some Blue Suns who were waiting outside pursue them. They flee Omega, and travel to the Citadel, because it is far less likely for them to be targeted by gangs there. They meet a client, a Batarian, who gives them a job in the Perseus Veil to retrieve an artifact floating in space.
They find it, but then a Geth Dropship attacks and they are boarded by Geth who want the Prothean artifact, mistakenly believing it to be of Reaper origin. The crew, having been captured, has to eliminate the Geth onboard their ship while keeping the artifact there, and escaping from the huge Geth ship. They manage to, and escape. The crew goes to the Citadel, but the Batarian has been killed by Blood Pack members while they were gone. The Blood Pack sneaks on their ship while they're away, and the part of the crew that left to go talk with the now-dead client has to run back and help take back the ship with the battered crew that was onboard.
They have to leave when C-Sec tries to stop them and take in everyone, but the Thin Ice flees and barely makes it out, albeit damaged. After a little bit of chill time, they raid an Eclipse Freighter, and continue on wandering. The crew studies the artifact, and one member accidentally touched the artifact. You guessed it... it's a Beacon. It blows up after it's used, and one or two members of the crew has the vision. So the crew eventually deciphers the message after an asari onboard (I'll be one) helps out. This beacon was a later one than the one Shepard had, so they discover that there is a second way for the Reapers to enter the galaxy- a yet-unused Mass Relay on the far side of the galaxy, where the Rachni originated from. Once there, a group of dropships manned by Geth tries to destroy the ship, but the crew quickly uses the Relay they had been investigating. The ship is launched into a remote system with a hibernating backup Vanguard. The crew docks with the inactive Reaper and boards it. They fight their way through some of the aliens long thought extinct (think Collector-style ones, but of the Zeioph) and plant a buttload of explosives in the core. As they're leaving, one of the aliens awakens the Reaper, and they have to high-tail it out of there. The Reaper begins to chase them, and.... BOOM! It dies. =D
The crew zips over to the relay and heads to a smuggling depot. Once there, they rest and raid a ship. Life... hopefully back to normal.
