I really love these two games, so I can offer insight.
In LittleBigPlanet, Idunno - the daily life of a Sackperson, I think. Since it's a customizable game, you can make your Sackboy whoever you like (remember their skin must be a material like burlap or denim or rubber)
In ModNation, it'd be the ascent of several drivers on the Tours and the hardships they face, from destroyed karts and the like. We'd have our own Mods and our own karts.
The create-your-own thing might be a bit stinted, but oh well.
If we picked ModNation, it would be semi-linear - we'd be free to do anything we want from design to hang out outside of races, but since we would have to adhere to the schedule of the ModNation Racing Championship (or MRC, remember that), it would mean we would have open possibilites, and then races that creative possibilities would factor into.
Eventually the players would be pitted against each other in grudge matches, and I'd presume the final racer (i.e. the one that makes it to the last race without losing in a grudge match) would square off against the protagonist of the game himself - Tag, the graffiti tagger who won last year's MRC championship.
As for LBP, we'd need to make our own storyline, but seeing as those can be buily easily in LBP, I assume that this would be an easy task. Just make up some crazy plot, like stopping a hostile person from taking the creations, get all of the level creators to a carnival, stop a vacuum cleaner from sucking up the universe... oh wait, those are the LBP storylines, nevermind then.
Anyways, whaddya think?
