Epic, but what would a post-apocalyptic arm be like? Something something that fired small rockets, maybe?

The Dune augmentation would probably not be an arm enhancement, but Spice addiction.

A post-apocalyptic arm would probably be a mixture of different types of metals. Maybe some cloth. It'd need to look as rag-tag as the world itself.
Essentially, the aug is also a representation of the world itself.

Augs can also carry up to three "rare" abilities. These are named because the conditions of use are very rare. Only in the direst of circumstances would they be utilized. They could be anything, from airstrikes to powerful all-deflecting armor that lasts two minutes (the latter is one of mine).

I think they should have two abilities, and then a special ability. That should help keep them from being too overpowered.

Hmm, okay. That means revision of my Vinci aug list.
I'll get to it tomorrow, pare down the couple of options.

Lol, the whole aug thing was your idea, so you don't have to change it if you don't want.

Spice addiction doesn't really have that many 'overt' effects. (Unless you're a navigator) It increases your cognitive abilities, extends life, and amplifies sensory preception (all by quite a lot).

I would say these things are overpowered but I think they are nessacary to combat the higher ups of The Demons and Hollows especially for people seeing as they have no "magic" abilities but powerful technology while for The Hollows they have no technology (only building on the World is The Vasto Lorde's palace and ruins of the old Soul Society...and the Vizards homes and small secret society and the only other technology they have is their Zanpakuto which is more of a "magic" based technology).
However I do think augments need to have some form of negative trade off (Hollows have to comsume each other to reach their powerful stages plus they have this void inside of themselves that can only be filled by consuming the souls of others and they have to avoid being eaten in order for themselves to survive). Perhaps rigourous training is needed in order to control the augments because The Hollows have to train for a long time to achieve control their powers.

Vasto, that's a good idea.
Another drawback to the augs already in place is that once an aug is attached it cannot be unattached - even during controlled surgery, an augmentation stays until death.

To explain, augmentations have automatic "kill" functions inside them.
Basically, once an aug is installed, it's a permanent implant: which means that it stays. If the aug is removed, it explodes with extreme force, killing whoever is nearby. Likewise, if someone dies with an aug attached, the explosive is deactivated and so is the rest of the aug.
