Mitch sat in cover behind a counter. "Altas, Carrie! Come in! You two there? Respond. That's an order." he whispered. Hopefully their short wave communications would work alright now. Then he heard the sound of multiple PHantom dropships overhead. "Awww... f**k." he groaned. "Lady! Get over here!"

"This is Atlas, sir, we've got a Scarab on-" his comm was suddenly interrupted by the sound of the crashing legs of a Scarab and passing Phantom dropships, "You in the shit sir?" "Sir," Carrie took over, "What's your position? We've got an armored personnel carrier, we can come pick you up." Atlas immediatly shut off his comm. "Are you insane, look at that thing!" he whispered, gesturing to the soldiers vehicle, "It might be bugger than a Hog but it probably wouldn't last as long, and look at its pissy turret!"

Mitch cursed to himself under his breath. "Atlas, Carrie, if you can hear me-hide. Find the nearest building and stay quiet until the Scarab and the Dropships leave." he looked through the window, he saw the shadows of Phantoms heading for the hospital. "C'mon," he said to Mandy, "Time to go, lady. stay quiet and stay behind and close to me." he said, getting up and picking up his Patten.

Mandy nodded and followed the trooper, gripping her automag.

Mitch
3 hours after drop.
16:05
As Mitch and Mandy raced through various buildings, being as silent as possible, they eventually made it to the top floor on apartment building across from the hospital. He looked around and noticed a radio antenna that had fallen over. It actually stretched from the apartment building to the roof of the hospital. One problem though-The Scarab was comming their way and it would knock the antenna over.
"Alright, Lady, you're goin first across this thing. I'll hold your hand, just go."

"You want me to go across that!?" she yelled, but then quickly seeing the approaching Scarab. "Come on then, trooper!" she yelled again, climbing antenna and making her way over to the hospital roof.
***
Atlas took Carrie and led her deeper into the hospital as the Scarab began thrashing towards them. They passed QC soldiers as they ran outside to join the fight about to begin. "Wait," Carrie said as a soldier ran past them. "Just let the Scarab pass!" "No can do, we're going to take that sucker down!" he cheered, continuing down the hall. "Oh, stay off the top floors!"

((Aww Balls...just as planned! )) Mitch followed close behind her. But the Scarab was closing fast. When Mandy got across, he was about 3 metres from the hospital roof until he tripped. "f**k!" he yelled as he grabbed on to the antenna and hung there. He looked at the Scarab as it approached. "Aww shit." he continued down the antenna like monkey bars. When the Scarab made contact with the radio antenna, he jumped from it and held onto the side of the hospital roof but hit the wall and his fingures started to lose grip. "Lady! Help I'm slipping!"

Mandy quickly reached over and grabbed Mitch's hand as the Scarab passed below. A Jackal, armed with a Carbine ran out from inside the Scarab and stood on it's deck. It took a shot, it's bolt striking the concrete ledge. Mandy gasped but instinctively drew the automag and fired three shots. Each one planted into the Jackals face. She then tossed aside the gun and pulled the trooper over the ledge.

The QC personnel carrier screamed around the street corner and engaged the Scarab. It's turret firing up at the scarabs main weapon. The QC had never directly engaged a Covenant walker. They were getting themselves into quite a mess.

Mitch breathed heavily and he sat on the edge. "Thank you. Thank you so much!" he said to Mandy while catching his breath. He activated his comm, "Carrie! Atlas! The Scarab's turning the corner and leaving," he paused for a moment and looked down below. "What the...?" a single APC was engaging a Covenant Scarab Walker. "The hell are they doing?"

The truck stopped behind the Scarab as it continued down the street. The scarab had ignored them. The turret still firing, the truck sped back in front of the walker. Immediately the Scarabs main weapon charged and fired a single burst. Three QC soldiers leaped from the vehicle as it exploded. In a panic, they retreated back to the hospital as the Scarab continued to it's objective; whatever it was.
***
"Sir, this is Atlas," he began, subconsciously following a blood trail up a flight of stairs, "We've got your beacon on the roof, we're on our way," Carrie was close behind him, focusing more on the human blood trail. As more floors were passed, the trailed moved from the stairs and into a closed door. Carrie stopped as Atlas continued jogging up the stairs. She opened the door and aimed her weapon down the hall. Here were the bodies. Hospital staff and patients, all of them dead. "Covenant bastards," she gagged, looking back into the stairwell.
***
Atlas burst through the final door and rolled out onto the roof. There Mitch sat with a civilian, or an asset, or a future pain in the ass. Atlas hurried over and kneeled beside them. "Welcome to Aurora."
***
Carrie looked back into the hall. What bodies she saw... they weren't killed by the Covenant. She rushed over the the nearest body; a nurse. She lay face first on the hospital floor in a pool of her own blood. She rolled the body over to discover several bullet wounds in her chest. "Oh my god..." Carrie said to herself. She stood and moved onto another, and another and another. All killed by Human weaponry. She kneeled down by the body of a child and watched as the three QC soldiers ran back into the Hospital courtyard. She chocked her Battle Rifle and ran back to the stairwell.

"Atlas... Why the hell does all the shit happen to me?" he sighed. He looked at Mandy. "You're comming with us, lady." he stood up and looked around. "Where's Carrie?"

"She was right behind me," he said, quickly standing and running back into the stairwell. He heard a door slam shut and the sound of a trooper rushing down he stairs. Atlas looked over the rail and saw Carrie. "Carrie!" he called to her, but she didn't reply.
She jumped from the final step and stormed towards the surviving three QC soldiers. She switched her rifle to single shot and fired. Two of the three soldiers fell, dead. She then planted the final shot into the remaining soldiers leg. He fell in pain and Carrie tossed her battle rifle aside and drew he automag, putting it to the soldiers head.

Mitch heard three loud bangs and immeadiatly kicked open the door. "Atlas! Don't half ass! c'mon! Bring the lady...!" he yelled going down the stairs. he saw Carrie with her Automag up the the QC's head. "Whoa, whoa, whao! Carrie calm down!" he said, aiming his Patten at her. "Drop the gun!"

Mandy was quick behind the trooper and also aimed her weapon at Carrie. Atlas was furious, he was ready to aim his weapon at his CO, but luckily Mandy had also stood up to the plate, so he aimed his rifle at the woman. "Stand down, sir!" Atlas demanded. "Lower the gun, lady," he added. "These f**kers killed them all!" Carrie cursed. First time that she had too, in front of Atlas anyway. "Woah, woah, Carrie, calm down," Atlas said, shifting his aim at the trooper. "Who'd they kill?" "Reason why there were no bodies was because they rounded them up and slaughtered them, the staff, civilians, all of them!" she yelled. "Carrie, it must have been the Covenant," Atlas continued, trying to keep her calm. "Bullet holes were everywhere, blood splatters weren't consistent with a plasma bolt. This was human fire!" she yelled. Atlas immediatly remembered the commotion he had heard up stairs, and the only person in his life he ever trusted was his sister. His aim was now fixed on the QC soldier. "Well?" The soldier panted and looked up at the troopers, he wasnt about to talk. Atlas cocked his assault rifle and moved closer to the soldier, "Talk." The soldier looked desperately to the only trooper who seemed to be wanting to defend him, Mitch. His eyes widened and his mouth opened to talk. Mandy was getting worried, and impatient. She suddenly pulled the trigger. Atlas jumped up when hearing the shot, he spun around and screamed "No!" The QC trooper suddenly fell forward and collapsed into the grass of the courtyard. Carrie was still standing. Atlas calmed down and looked back to the soldiers body, "Why'd you do that?" he gasped. "My finger slipped," she shrugged. "Now, didn't we need to get somewhere?" "Atlas, there's an entire floor of that hospital full of-" The ground suddenly shook and the first few lower levels of the hospital exploded. Tactically. The higher levels then collapsed and the group were consumed by a cloud of dust.
When it finally cleared, Carrie stood in shock in front of the rubble. "...Damn," Atlas chuckled.

Mitch had stayed silent the entire conversation and listened to the three. "Why?" he mumbled to himself. He thought about the QC soldiers. They were trained like Spetznaz but they were horrible shots. Well, the ones he'd seen. Just like ONI..., he thought, remembering the day they killed his sister. It was also the day he was convicted. She was innocent. He looked over at Mandy, innocent. Just like her.
Mitch sighed and threw his Patten down. "Didn't even get to fire the thing." he said. Then the building exploded. The top floors went first. He smirked, "Smart."
