"Hornets have been strafing the landing zone for a few minutes now, when we land you'll have a few seconds to get to cover before they come out of hiding," Lachlan instructed as he approached the tower. "Yeah, I got that," Charlie replied. "Will you be sticking around?" "Sorry mate," Lachlan replied, shaking his head. Charlie sighed and placed her helmet back on. She walked out of the cockpit and returned to the troop bay, taking a seat beside another Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. "Twenty seconds," Lachlan said over the intercom, flicking a switch that opened the troop bay door. "Engineer, arm turret," The bay doors opened and the flight engineer assembled and mounted the turret. "Hornets are pulling back," Kelly advised. "Right," Lachlan replied. "Please remain seated until the craft has come to a complete stop, I hope you've enjoyed your flight and please, fly with us again," he added over the intercom. (OoC: I figured I'd get this thread started. I've left the leader position open, so Matt, when you're ready. And Tom, if I wan't meant to get this thread started, delete first and tell me later )

"hold on this ride may get bumpy" said Luft as he manevered the Pelican towards the ground. "just get our tank on the ground" said Klaus. "aye aye Sarge" said Luft. "good we need the Grizzly Tanks on the ground" said Klaus as he sat back down.

"Hornets seem to have been a mistake," Kelly pondered. "Why do you say that?" Lachlan asked, adding a grunt to the final word as he maneuvered the Pelican to hover perfectly at the front of the Tower entrance. "If I'm reading this correctly, the Brutes appear to have scrambled Banshee's, I assume they're on approach but I haven't picked up their signature yet," she replied. "Then we can't waste anymore time," Lachlan said, lowering the pelican enough so the ODST's could leap. "Green light, go," he announced over the intercom.
Charlie stood from her seat the same time as the other men and watched from the back of the Pelican as they began to jump out. She slowly moved along the line until it came time for her to leap out. She didn't waste any time and jumped, grunting once she hit the ground. As she ran towards the tower entrance, she looked around and noticed the damage the Hornets had done, which was very little. A few bullet holes and blood splatters here and there, there must haven't had been much resistance. She reached the badly damaged door which would lead inside the tower, a pair of ODST's were preparing to blow it open, something the Hornets had apparently failed to do. She stood at the back of a line and watched as the Pelican pulled away.

UNSC Lance Corporal Mitch Edwin Johnson checked his Sniper Rifle and shouldered it. He drew his SMG and surveyed the two ODSTs set up the explosives beside Charlie. "Wonder what's in there. I mean, aside from a bunch of Brutes."

The Pelican hovered over the ground near the tower. Luft flicked a switch and the Grizzly Tank fell on the ground. "good luck and I will be back with the rest of your armor" said Luft as he lowered the ramp. " everyone out on the double" said Klaus as he waited fir everyone else to get off. " looks like were late to the party" said Klaus as he stood next to the two Grizzlys. ( OoC another Pelican came with me )

"Time to f**k up some Brutes Helljumpers"
Lucas voice came though loud and clear in every mans helmet from those already on the ground or those en route with pelicans, Lucas would be taking the smaller elements of the ODST's into combat in there more familiar surrounding's, with the metel surface of a drop pod staring back at them.
The drop team going in with Lucas were already in there pods as Lucas slammed his door shut, the metal clanging off the hard metallic surface of his pod put the hairs on the back of his neck up, that feeling off pure adrenaline running though his body before the brief weightlessness took over his body.
Him and his team were hurtling towards the ground at thousands of miles per hour, what a rush......

((Hope you don't mind me joining your squad, Matt?))
Vince was silent in his pod, awaiting the flashing red light and small ringing that would commence moments before his decent began. He and the rest of the squad were suited up and ready to jump the instant the Sergeant major entered his pod. Vince was more then ready for this, after seeing what the Brutes had done while he and his squad were on that planet, Vince was filled with vengeance... all the good men and women who gave their lives to defend that colony would be avenged this day.
While Vince had been assigned to a new for this mission, Vince had no objection to fresh faces, from what he had heard, this Sergeant major Smith seemed to lead his squad excellently, far be it from Vince to change any of that.
Vince looked to his left at the small weapon holders welded perfectly into the side of the pod, a Battle Rifle was wedged tightly in between the magnetic seals. This was far from Vince's first jump, he knew the drill, upon impact with the surface, the magnetic seals were released and the weapon became free for use. Vince was ready, yet his mind wondered, dreading on thoughts of Sonya, he missed her already and it had been a mere two hours since they last met.
His thoughts were blasted away as the pods beside Vince began firing out of the ship, rocking the compartment mildly before the familiar sense of falling shocked Vince, the intense g-forces of the pod, nothing new to the men and women in the pods. Vince closed his eyes and awaited the pod to crash down on the planet, prepared for whatever may follow.

"HELLJUMPERS IMMINENT!" Mitchell yelled as he checked his SMG and set up point around the door. The doors were blasted open and the ODSTs scanned the room. "There's nothing here." said another ODST while they looked around. Behind, and around them, were multiple shimmers of active camo. Mitchell and Charlie immeadiatly looked over as that same ODST was stabbed in the back from a Spike Rifle's blade. "Stalkers!" (OoC wait for Matt to land before going in ) Klaus watched the Skies and saw HEVs falling. Luft you may want to pick up some Helljumpers as they came in HEVs and may land off course. "aye aye I will look for them" said Klaus. (OoC if you want to be picked up just inform me by making your pod go off course)

Sonya had a slight sense of trepidation about the mission. Her feelings for Vince had increased, and she realised she didn't want to lose him. But she was a professional; she had a job to do. She had a job to do and she would do it. Orbital Drop Shock Troopers jumped into hell feet first, and Sonya wasn't about to change what was almost the founding principle of the Troopers. Strapping herself into the Human Entry Vehicle, she readied herself for what was to come. Her gear was ready, her "uniform", so to speak, on, and she was prepared. Prepared as she would be. She'd been there at Arthulia IV, she'd seen the sacrifices made by those on the planet to hold off the Brutes. She'd almost died there, and a great deal of her squad had. She'd known those men and women, she'd worked with them, joked with them, relaxed with them... The Brutes would pay for what they'd done. And there was always the memory of the Brutes, what they'd done to Jonas, how they'd killed him... Sonya gritted her teeth. Yes, she really would enjoy the day, and would avenge the death of all her fallen comrades, both recent and past. And then the pod released, firing her and the others into the atmosphere at hundreds of miles per hour. She was privileged to be serving under Lucas today, and she'd make sure she'd do as well as she could. Sonya whooped aloud with the exhilaration of it, despite no one being able to hear her, as she jettisoned towards the planet surface.

"HELL JUMPERS IMMINENT!" Mitchell yelled as he took up point around the door. He had a feeling in his gut that he wouldn't return from this, but he was ready for revenge. He instantly remembered after that what the samurai of the 15th century used to say: 'Go into battle expecting to die, come out alive'. The Brutes had killed his girlfriend during the Battle of Voi, and left him for dead. If it wasen't for the ODSTs that found him, he would have been dead like the rest when the flood ship struck the shipyards. Mitchell whispered to himself: 'This is for you, Katie.' He checked his SMG one last time and prepared himself for what was about to come.

Charlie gazed to the sky and watched as the men and women of the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers descended from the heavens to meet them in hell. "This is it then," she sighed to herself. As she stood in the line, she couldn't help but want this operation to fail. Strange thoughts, but if the ODST's failed, then her Spartan hero would come to her rescue. "Charges are set!" an ODST yelled, quickly gathering his things and taking his position in the breaching line.

"you give them hell" yelled Klaus from ontop of his Grizzly Tank. "what somebodys got to make sure Brute reinforcesmens don't come in behind you" said Klaus preparing to get yelled out for staying outside. "I don't think tanks will do much use in there and I brought tanks to this picnic" said Klaus.

"Oorah," Charlie replied to Klaus. "For now we wait for our C.O, that should be him now," she said, gesturing to the approaching H.E.Vs. "Patience boy," she smirked at Mitch.

"Heheh, ma'am, I'm not known for my patience." Mitchell smiled under his helmet and awaited for the C.O. "Ma'am, have you ever heard of a samurai saying, 'go into battle expecting to die and come out alive'? It's my favourite saying."
