Razo moved upward again and fired five shots into the chest of the final brute before him, killing it before it made contact with the hard, cold ground below.
The sudden chaos that embedded the scene shortly after seemed to slow time briefly. The sight of more enemies firing upon both Zarra, himself and what looked to be the Elite Razo had placed in charge of one of the other squads was nerve racking.
Razo raised his hand into the air and signalled for the Sangheili still behind cover to engage the enemy, needler crystals and plasma of all kinds began soaring through the street, killing Brute, Grunt and Sangheili alike. Razo stealthily made his way to the alley of which Anau and Zarra had made their way down and fired the final rounds in his carbine at an approaching Brute, causing the Carbine to eject the clip and spray the green residue from the chamber.
As another Brute approached, Razo threw the Carbine to the ground and sent his fist at the beasts head, only to feel intense pain as the beast smashed its open palm into Razo's chest, sending him recoiling backwards slightly. As he stumbled, Razo sent his hand to his side, withdrawing the small cylinder clasped to his armour and taking another quick move toward the brute, activating the cylinder as he moved, causing the brilliant, blue energy of the blade to unleash from its canister, slicing through the Brute's skin quickly and cleanly, causing it to gasp in pain and fall backwards as Razo withdrew the blade from its chest.
Razo dismissed the beast and moved down the alley, his eyes fixed upon Zarra who had apparently already received a mouthful from Anau, so to speak.
"There is a time and a place for this discussion, brother, this scene is neither," Razo said, placing a hand on Anau's shoulder upon catching the end of his hindering words. Razo gave a quick glance to Zarra and turned as a Grunt moved behind them, causing him to withdraw a plasma pistol from a dead being beside him and fire two shots, both hitting the small creature directly in the chest, sending it sprawling backwards into the centre of the battlefield, to where it was bombarded by shots from a Sangheili across the street.
"I will speak to you of this matter in the future, Zarra, for now, we must make haste." Razo finished, beginning his pace backwards out of the alley.
It was then a stray plasma grenade bounced to the foot of a building at the end of the alley, a small charging sound occurred before a brilliant burst of blue plasma seared the air around it, sending Razo backwards and bringing the building adjacent down in the blue flames now licking the scene, rubble was sent in all directions, crashing down upon the ground as if attempting to bury those around it.

Zarra, embarrassed and a little angry, opened her mouth to respond, but the explosion cut her off before she could speak. She hurried over to Razo. "Sir, are you alright?"

Zaku reached his arm around the corner, letting plasma bolts fly from it, and into the eye of a Brute Captain. The simian fell to the ground, and two Minors took his place. It was as if....
They had to get out of here! This had been an ambush, and the Brutes must all be converging upon this street! Luckily, though, the squad Zaku had left behind must be having an easy way getting to the tower. The downside was that they would have to wait, and the longer they waited, the more likely they were to be sniped.
The gold-armored zealot leapt out with a roar, putting his rifles on his hips, and drawing his energy sword. He hacked and kicked and clawed and bit his way through the tangled mass of Brutes, making it to the War Chieftain in the middle. The Brutes around him stopped firing, but the ones Zaku had already passed continued to attack the other Elites.
"Fight me," Zaku growled, "Or are you too cowardly?"
The hulking Jiralhanae roared in defiance, yanking out his Gravity Hammer, and lifting it in the air. The eight-foot-eight Zealot held his blade low, and crouched. He leapt out of the Hammer's path as it smashed into the ground. The mark of his plasma sword on the Brutes neck was bright blue, and the ape bellowed in pain. The Chieftain swirled around in a beserk rage, and Zaku dodged him and slashed his knee. This dance continued for several minutes.
The Zealot leaped over the Brute, and did not strike; instead, he landed on the beast's shoulders, and stabbed, sideways, through the Brute's throat. Then, to the rest of the Jiralhanae's surprise and horror, Zaku beheaded the Chieftain. He deactivated the blade, and pulled off his rifles. Time for some more fun.

((OoC: Sorry I'm late!))
Verllan'a hopped out of the phantom and pulled out her sword, gripped firm in her hand. She sprinted forward to catch up with Katar, and an unfamiliar gold armoured elite. "Greetings, you seem to be new around here. I am Verllan'a, Zealot Shipmist-" She activated her sword. She saw the distorted image of the building in front of her. She knew the jelly like figure, was of a cloaked Brute. "Move slowly. Stay behind me!" She moved closer towards the figure, pretending as if she couldn't see him. When she heard the clicking weapon reloading, she swiftly ran behind him and lunged at the Brute's back. The sword went straight through the unarmoured body, the camo deactivated, and he fell to the ground. "They need alot of improvement on their cloaking." She laughed.

Zaku sprinted back to where the other Elites were firing from cover. After a few seconds, he was back in the alley from where he had started. The gold-armored zealot looked at the Arbiter in the rubble.
"Arbiter!" he bellowed in his deep baritone while firing plasma bolts at the flood of hostiles. "We must be quit of this skirmish! This useless fight is just consuming our men, alerting the city guard to our presence, and stalling us! What is your plan?!"

"Keep up the fire!" Anau ordered. He staggered over the rubble and approached the two Elites gathered by the Arbiter. "Sir." he said, taking the Arbiters hand and pulling him out of the filth of the collapsed building.

((Ares, unless I'm mistaken, there is only one brute chieftain in the entire covenant and Tom owns him.))
The ringing surrounding and enveloping the Arbiter seemed to destroy his senses as the building came down around him, blue plasma residue filtering through the air and dissipating shortly after. Razo, however, dragged himself from beneath what he was sure was to be his place of death, the extended hand offered before him was instantly greeted by that of Razo's firm grip, pulling himself to his feet with the help of Anau.
Razo turned to face Zarra and what seemed to be the Elite Razo had placed in charge of the second squad, once again. Razo nodded in appreciation at their concern and turned his attention to the situation at hand. They were now cut off from the rest of the squad, the damage caused by the plasma grenade was too extensive to simply find a way back, they would need to reach the tower another way.
Slowly, the Arbiter moved a hand to his communication device within the structure of his armour.
"Continue to the tower without my guidance once the battle here is victorious, brothers, we shall meet at the tower and destroy the generator in unity."
Razo turned back to Zarra, Anau and Zaku, he withdrew one of the cold, metal cylinders from his armour and moved up to Zaku.
"Why are you not with your squad?"

(OoC: There was only one chieftain in Halo 2, but there were a lot of them in Halo 3.)
Zarra took the Arbiters words as permission to rejoin the battle. She turned and drew her sword again, looking toward the fighting. She picked out a Brute Minor, that was wandering in their direction, and started toward him.

((OOC: Many chieftains, one supreme Chieftain. And sorry I'm late - forgot about me being the enemies and all. :/ ))
Styx had been expecting a reaction from the United Nations Space Command since the assault and subsequent takeover of Arthulia IV had occurred, yet neither he nor the Prophet of Chaos had expected it to come in this sort of magnitude. The towers had been strengthened, yet the Brute fleet in orbit above Doisac meant that the forces on the actual planet were spread thinly. Styx had very little confidence in those defending the tower against the SPARTANs, yet if they managed to kill off a large portion of the SPARTANs then when the SPARTANs came to rejoin their comrades they could kill off the remainder. As long as Doisac held strong then Styx knew that the price would be worth it. Even if they did bomb Doisac, little under a full on colonisation would see much trouble; Styx knew of the strong ally they had in the Rifters, yet that still didn't mean he wanted to watch the United Nations Space Commanding making his world burn.
Styx would bring down the hammer of strength upon them.
The tower itself was situated in the centre of what was almost a city that the Sangheili had infiltrated. So far, it seemed that the United Nations Space Command had split their overall force into the Sangheili, SPARTANs and Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, each one attacking one of the towers. Styx was glad they'd got the Sangheili; the hate between the Sangheili and the Jiralhanae was as strong as it had been during the war. For the Brutes, the war had never ended. The Sangheili had been disloyal, broken their vows, betrayed the Covenant and turned their back on the salvation offered as the promise of all the Prophets. Even now the Prophets had survived through what the United Nations Space Command saw as their entire death, although Styx wouldn't be advertising the presence of the Prophet of Chaos until they were ready. Even now, the promise still held, the offer for the Great Journey to one day begin. Styx had thought the Journey lost after the rings had been fired.
But now they were allied with a God.
Styx occupied the top floor of the tower, seated on a throne befitting of his position as Chieftain of the Jiralhanae. To reach the controls to shut down the tower, the Sangheili would have to pass him and his elite Brute honour guards, something that wouldn't happen. As an absolute contingency plan, a Banshee was powered up on a platform up a stairway in the far corner of the chamber, a bridge spanning it's way to the platform on which the controls and Styx's throne was on. To reach him, they'd have to cross the bridge past the many Brutes, and then attack him and his honour guard on what was a small platform. Styx felt confident. Calling over one of his honour guards, Styx spoke to him quietly: "Have the second garrison of Jiralhanae released onto the streets to fight the Sangheili. Have them beat the blood from those traitors until they die, have them repel the enemy and have them hold them from this tower. Put explosives on the tower door, not enough to destroy the room but enough to kill anyone within ten yards if a Sangheili crosses the doorway. Make sure no Brute is clumsy enough to trigger them." As the Brute hastened to do as Styx ordered, Styx leant back.
"Now we shall see the Sangheili burn.."

Zaku stopped firing, and turned to face the Arbiter. "I'm not with my squad because I tried to assist one of your Elites. I could not kill the Sniper however, and this horde attacked. I have been waylaid."
The Zealot arched his eyebrow ridge. "And besides, this is an excellent chance for the two Majors to learn active leadership. They'll comm me if they're in trouble. It inspires the Minors to know that their Majors don't need an eight-foot-five zealot to protect them."

((Just a note, I meant for Anau, Zarra, Zaku and Razo to take a different route to that which the squads are taking, but I suppose if you would prefer, I can edit my post?))
Razo kept his silent gaze upon the Zealot before speaking once again.
"Your place is with them, Zaku, not with my squad." Razo began, looking at Zarra breifly, before moving his eyes back upon the gold armoured Zaku.
"While what you did was admirable, I placed that squad in your care because I feel them inexperienced enough to lead others, do not give me regrets upon that decision."

Zarra easily sliced through the Brute Minor, then moved into another alley, and switched back to her beam rifle and wounded another Brute. She saw a flash of blue out of the corner of her eye and rolled away as a Grunt tossed a grenade in her direction. The grenade didn't harm her, but had lowered her shields. She turned toward the Grunt with a snarl, and chased it into the middle of the street before the sting of a stray spike grazing her side reminded her that her shields were down. She took cover and waited for her shields to recharge as she watched the Grunt continue down the street.

"Arbiter I have some Phantoms inbond to your postion" said Katar over the comns to Razo. He sat down with the minors many excited to be going into there first battles and sighed remembering happier days when he was merely a Special Operations Minor and he to was eager to join the fight but sadly most if not all of his orginal squad died since then. "do not let your eagerness to kill let your guard down you will have plenty of chances to kill those still loyal to the old wats" said Katar. "but sir this may be are last major battle in a while" said a Minor. " fear not there will be more in the future we live a long time" said Katar.
(Ooc Only two Phantoms one with Katar and the other with Shadows charcter as well if needed even if she does not get off immediatly)

Zaku was about to begin a speech on effective leadership techniques and morale boosting, but he bit the monologue back.
"As the Arbiter wishes," he growled, savagely letting loose one last plasma bolts into a Brute's head, and turning from the battlefield. The gold-armored Zealot pushed one of the glowing green lights on his armor, and he faded into the night, dashing along the streets...
About seven minutes later, he found himself looking at the Tower... from a distance. He could barely make out the forms of the two cloaked majors and the minors on his scanners, and he couldn't see them with his naked eyes. Muttering some vile epithets to himself, he slowed his pace to a menacing walk, stalking through the silent, shadowed streets.
((OOC/ Sorry if Zaku seems rude... He only respects those he's fought alongside with. Nothing personal, just the case of a crabby Elite))
