October 19th, 2552 Military Standard
ONI Agents on the secret facility on the planet Downflow have been scanning the outlying systems for months, with few results. As of October 2nd, 2552, they have discovered a Covenant Cruiser on approach with the Gas Giant, Threshold, located in the adjacent system. October 12th, Covenant weaponry was fired toward Threshold, followed by what appeared to be return fire. ONI has transferred some of the UNSC's finest to their outpost on Downflow, to prepare them for their mission: Infiltrate the Covenant Outpost, gather any intel possible, and if necessary, stop them.

Jenny checked polished her sniper rifle for the third time. She just stood there in the hanger staring at the wall the only movement was her hands moving the rag. She two things on her mind was Otto ok and why did the rest of her team have to die. She slung her sniper rifle across the back of her Recon Armor and then began placing and then removing her extra clips from their compartment on her armor.

SPARTAN-M45 stood at a panel, monitoring the Prowler as it made its descent toward the surface. He thought back to the reports that had come in over the last few days, of the Covenant Outpost, the Cruiser, the supposed "Friendly-Fire" over Threshold. There were too many unanswered questions. Perhaps the Covenant were searching for something? He shrugged. Best to figure things out when the need arose. He sat back down, and continued monitoring the Prowler.

Atlas, Carrie and Charlie sat together around a small table as the Prowler descended. Lachlan was busy in the cockpit annoying the pilots.
(OoC: So, for our Elite characters, when do we bring them in and how?)

(OoC: Unless they are with the Heretics [which I'll explain later], they would be enemies. And the Heretic ones won't come in until a bit later)

((OoC: When is this taking place exactly? Because Zarra's rank changes a couple times between the end of Halo1 and the start of Halo3, and none of my human characters are in the military until some point in the middle of Halo2. I know this isn't canon but I still want to stay consistant. )) ((Edit: Nevermind. I just noticed it's 2548. xD I guess I'll just be a "badguy" then. At least until the heretics show up. ))

"A Covenant Cruiser has been sighted in geosynchronis orbit above Threshold", MASTERMIND said to the SPARTAN beside him. "We believe they may be searching for something". He continued watching the monitor. The Prowler would be arriving any minute now. "But Threshold is a gas giant.... what could they possibly want there?"

The Covenant Assault Carrier, the Radiant Jewel, hovered over Threshold. The giant Covenant ship, armed with state-of-the art plasma cannons, an assortment of Banshees, Wraiths, Phantoms, Stealth Wraiths, Prowlers, Honor Guard Wriaths, AA Wraiths, a horde of Ghosts, several packs of Jiralhanae, a huge number of Sangheili Minor Domos, a mass of Major Domo Sangheili, multiple Ultras, a horde of Spec Ops and Stealth Elites, two Field Masters, a veritable sea of Unngoy, a large amount of Kig-Yar, a force of Lekgolo, and the Ship Master.
The Ship Master, Zaku 'Vudemee, sat in his floating command chair in the command module of his Assault Carrier. The hulking Zealot, standing nearly three inches taller than most of his species, sat in his commanding gold amor. It shone in the hazy light of the Covenant ship. His Ultra assistant, Toro 'Ketumee, stood by him, clad in pearly armor. The two Field Masters walked foward, towards their commander.
One growled, "Ship Master! A human presence in the solar system has been detected!"
Zaku 'Vudemee turned his hovering command chair to face the duo. He replied in his gravelly voice. "The Prophets expected as much- these slippery infidels always show up whenever they are not wanted, like the demonic plague that they truly are. If they come too close, cleanse them with the Covenant's righteous judgement."
He paused, swivelling his Command Throne to face the huge window that overlooked the rusty clouds. The golden-armored Ship Master murumred to his Field Masters...
"Until then, however, you must search for the Artifact. Do not allow it to fall into the hands of the Infidels- even if that means destroying it."

(OoC: The Humans are not in the system. Heretics are, in small outposts scatterd throughout the atmosphere of Threshold)

Zarra looked down at her armor again. Finally, she had earned to right to be a warrior, and not just any kind of warrior, a Special Operations Minor. She picked out her weapons, then stood ready with the rest of her squad, waiting to be sent on the next mission.
