First of all let us dicuss the function of the Halo Ring and I think my lovely assistant Cortana.
" Halo does not kill Flood. It kills their food. Humans Covenants whatever... We all are equally edible. The only way to beat the Flood is to starve it. And that is exactly what Halo is designed to do: wipe THE GALAXY of all sentient life" -Cortana Halo Combat Evolved.
So class what does Halo do?
WipeS The Galaxy (The Milkly Way more specifically) of all setient life to starve the Flood to death ulimatly destroying them)
The Milkly Way but I thought it destroyed all life in the universe?
This would be correct if life only existed in The Milkly Way but in Halo Canon the Flood came from another galaxy so in the Haloverse this proves there is at least one galaxy that can support life besides The Milkly Way.
To further prove my point I will tell some more information:
each Halo rings firing radius according to halopedia is 25000 light years in all three dimensions.
The Andromada Galaxy is 2,500,000 light years from the Milkly Way. All 7 rings simply do not have the range to reach that.
The Milkly Way by itself is 100,000 light years across. If you did the math of 25,000 x 7 then you should be like Specs that's an extra 75,000 light years and the answer to that is the Galactic Halo of the Milkly Way is about 180,000 light years across. So we can see the Halo effect completes covers The main part of the Milkly Way and most of it's Galatic Halo.
Measurements came from Halopedia and Wikipedia.
