Councilor Reik Peenh stood, "I support sending a military force to Earth, those also in agreement please stand now."
***
"So who are you avoiding?" the female asked, "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," she smirked. "I know why you're out here, because politics bore you," Anau groaned, "You told me," "No, it's because my lover is in there too," she said, giving Anau an overconfident smile, "I can see it in your eyes," Anau huffed and turned back to his view of the city, "See what?" "The love," she giggled, gently shoving Anau, "Now, why is someone so in love trying to avoid it?" "Please, just leave me be," he sighed, putting his head in his hands. "This love is hurting you, I can tell," "Oh would you be quiet!?" he snapped, shocking the female. "Sorry," he sighed, looking down to the streets below, "It's just that..." he then turned around and looked to the entrance and considered running in and telling Zarra the truth. "My lover is a Councilor," she said after a brief silence, "And I'm just a reporter. Apparently I 'don't belong in the presence of the High Councilors'," she said, mocking her Councilor lover.

The members of Zarra's squad roared in outrage as one of the Councilors suggested that the Rifters were not a threat. One stood with a snarl and two of his friends quicky moved to keep him from rushing down to confront the Councilor. "Why don't you ask my little brother if the Rifters have done any harm to us?" he asked, "Why don't you ask the Elites the Rifters have already killed?" "'Yairum, keep your squad under control!" barked a Spec-Ops Commander. Zarra tossed her head, irritated. "Why? They have a right to be heard, and I agree with them. You are not my commanding officer anyway." "Don't be so sure of that," the Commander replied. Zarra looked away, visibly shaken by his words, and reluctantly obeyed. She put her hand on the angry Minor's shoulder, "Calm down," she told him quietly, then turned to the Council, "If the Council wishes to hear how we were attacked, I will tell you."

Councilor 'Vereem virtually leaped from his seat, standing up in proud support of the plan to attack. The scarred-faced Sangheili growled, "We should leave immediately for a direct assault upon these vile worms!! I also believe that at least three of us should go to directly lead our forces, for these must not be any ordinary enemies."
The ornately-helmeted Elite then froze. He had never heard of the outcome of the battle. A few seconds ago, he had also heard a member of the excellent fighter- Zarra Yairum-'s squad getting into an outrage about the battle. The Councilor's face took on a distinctly lighter shade, and he tremblingly faced both Otto and Zarra, looking between the two.
"SPARTAN... 'Yairum... I never heard what exactly happened at Earth... What.. what was the outcome?"

" As shocking as you may find this I also support combating this threat...so we can finally be rid the guilt and threats about our involment in destroying some of your worlds plus who else but the Sangheli are able to handle this threat" said Katar as he rose in support of war. *** "well I am afraid I do not have the answer to what happened to Earth but if you will excuse me for a moment I can find out" said Otto as he accessed the ONI channel. " Hey Jenny how did the battle for Earth go" whispered Otto into the channel. "Earth...Earth is gone" replyed her voice. "Gut Gott im Himmel...das kann nicht weg sein" yelled Otto suddenly as he heard the noise. He suddenly became embarassed for that sudden out burst...if they even knew what he was talking about. " Incase you couldn't tell from my outburst or my tone...Earth has fallen" said Otto as he bowed his head. He slammed his fist into the stand he was standing at causeing it to break.

"I am sorry human. How very unfortunate," said 'Ruaal, bowing his head for a moment, "Now, let the Major speak. She has the blood, along with the look, of an Aureum, and that is all I need to attest to her honesty." Zarra bowed, "Thank you. I admit I know even less than the human, but I think it is clear that these Rifters are a danger to us. We know Earth was well guarded. These creatures could, perhaps, take Sanghelios just as quickly if we do not acknowledge this threat. While we were trying to help the humans escape from the wreckage of their ships, these creatures attacked my men and I without provocation and killed one of our number. I was informed of similar accounts by Special Operations groups on the other ships. The number of Sangheili killed by the Rifters is unknown, but I have no doubt it will grow..." She paused, wondering if Anau might be one of that number and wincing at the thought. She shook her head, gritting her teeth, and looked up again, "We demand vengence!" Her squad, along with others roared in agreement.

Councilor 'Vereem then bellowed, "Why will we stand this threat, then?! Enough talk! We must rally the Fleets, leave behind two to defend our home, and send out the other three to strike the heart of these Rifters!" He looked to the five Masters of the Ships, each in command of an Assault Carrier. "Our brethren have fallen, as have our allies- blood has been spilled, and the humans were not able to hold the line. Humanity is in need of our assistance! With the combined forces of the humans and the Sangheili, the Rifters will fall! Time is of the essence... we must act!"
----------------------
Zaku looked on appreciately- the Councilor could deliver a bombastic speech just as well, if not better, than he could. Ship Master 'Vudem blinked, then. Had Councilor 'Vereem just pointed to him as if he were one of the Fleet Masters? Granted, the Ship Master did command an Assault Carrier... Only Fleet Masters had those, but Zaku was just a Ship Master who had taken command of the Radiant Jewel when its commander was killed in the Prophet's betrayal.....
The golden-armored Zealot saw two of the Fleet Masters, as well as one of the Ground Masters roar in agreement. Zaku proceeded to follow that, bellowing to signify that he was ready for battle, and he growled, "Let us smite them! Humanity and Sangheili combined will squash them!"

"I second that!" 'Ruaal declared, "Couldn't have said it better myself."
Zarra took her seat, smiling briefly for her cheering squad, then scanning the room again, this time with a look of fear. After a moment she shook her head and hid her face in her hand. "What's wrong?" asked one of the Minors. "Nothing," Zarra replied, "I... I just don't feel well. In fact... I can't stay. Tell me what happens." The Minor nodded as she stood and left. Once she reached the hall outside she leaned against the wall and hid her face again. 'Don't despair,' she told herself, 'I don't know anything yet. I don't even know if he was on any of those ships. I don't even know for sure if any other squads lost any warriors... I don't know... But why else would he disappear so suddenly?' She shook her head hard, wanting the idea to leave her mind, but it wouldn't. She slid to the floor, 'No, he can't be gone. He can't.'

((OoC: Just to be clear, I don't really plan on anyone noticing or trying to help Zarra, I just needed to find a reason to get her out of the room a little early. Ignore the melodrama and continue on as normal.))

"Very good," Councilor Reik Peenh said with an approving growl, then falling back into his seat.
***
"I know a Councilor," Anau said. "You do?" she asked with excitement, "Can you organise a meeting with him? I need to ask one a few questions about the arrival of the Human ships," "I see, but I'm afraid I cant do that. He's a good friend and I don't think he would appreciate me doing that," he chuckled. "So, how does a Minor know a councilor?" she asked suspiciously. Anau shook his head and sighed, "There was a time when I was... more, than a Minor."

"I believe that is a majority," said 'Ruaal, "Is there anything else that should be said?" * * *
Zarra heard foot steps behind her and quickly stood rubbing her eyes. An Honor Guard, patroling the hall, came around the corner. "Everthing alright ma'am?" he asked. "I'm just feeling a little ill," Zarra lied, not meeting his eyes, "I decided to leave early." The guard nodded and continued his patrol. Zarra shook her head as he left and headed for an elevator, growling at herself as she hit the down button. She had lost control of her emotions and she couldn't afford to do that again, at least not where she could be seen, if she wanted to keep the respect she had worked so hard to earn.

"No, we are done here," Reik replied, then turning behind him and hailing over a Zealot, "The order has been given, prepare a fleet and make haste for Earth." The Zealot nodded and quickly hurried off with an Ultra by his side. "Spartan, I congratulate you, your appeal has been successful. If you would exit through the door you came, a Phantom will be ready to transport you to the ship that will head the fleet. I'm sure you will want a front row seat," Reik said to the Spartan, then turning to the rest of the Councils audience, "This council meeting is adjourned."
***
"Hm, I guess it's over," Anau said, noticing the sound of a chime and the main doors openning. "I guess," she sighed, "Well, this was fun," she said finally, then leaving abruptly. Anau ignored her and took one last look at the Sanghelios mega city, then picking up his helmet and hurrying away to avoid the crowd, he would find out the verdict later.

Zarra's squad caught up with her in the lobby on the ground floor and they flocked around her cheering, "We're going to Earth! We're going to Earth!" "Good," said Zarra, with a nod. "Gather your things and inform any squad mates that weren't at the meeting, then get to the ship. Hurry." The Minors rushed off eagerly, as Zarra continued toward the exit. ((OoC: Danny, if you want, you could have Anau run into Zarra now, or you could let Zarra agonize over what might have happened to him for a while longer. Either works for me. ))

Zaku nodded solemly at first as one of the Councilors dismissed everyone- the verdict had been passed. The Rifters would fall. The golden-armored Ship Master walked out of the hall, and after he passed out of the Council Chambers, his Ultra appeared.
"Well? What happened?" Rano 'Tekom inquired solemnly- the seemingly humorless Sangheili always got a job done, though he never showed enthusiasm about anything whatsoever. Zaku, however, felt like doing an absurd victory dance... he didn't, though, because the Honor Guards would probably think he was going insane.
"We're going to smite those treacherous Rifters- whatever they are. We'll go, along with three of the five fleets, and crush them. Sangheili will prevail!"
The Ultra nodded dispassionately, and replied calmly. "I will prepare the Radiant Jewel."
---------------------------
Councilor 'Vereem looked to his fellow Councilor, Reikh Peenh. The Sangheili turned his scarred face to look at him. "I will go with the fleet- the presence of a Councilor will, after all, inspire morale. Do any of my fellow Councilors wish to go, too?" he asked of the other six Councilors.

"I will remain here, paper work wont do itself. I'm sure Katar will follow, though," he huffed, standing from his seat and leaving the room. *** Anau spotted Zarra and most of his squad mates as they headed towards the exit, now seemed as good as time as any. As he approached the squad Anau pretty much figured that, judging by the attitude of them, the order to assault the Rifters must have been given. When he caught up with them, he considered putting on his helmet, but that would be taking the cowards way out, again. He left the helmet by his side and hung behind the squad and waited for the right moment. (OoC: It's up to you )
